CACV is trying to confirm an Arbitration Award against me in my local circuit court to the tune of over $18,000. The trial is set for August. I'm counter suing them on violations of the FDCPA. But get this...in their reply to my counterclaim, they're claiming that they aren't "debt collectors." Can you believe it? Ha, ha! Not debt collectors! But I realize that I must prove they are. Any suggestions about how to go about that? I'm drawing a blank on this one. Thanks, Betty

Hi all, I've been hanging out at the additional income forum so I was just browsing around and decided to post my story. My credit card debt totals $11,485.11 spread over three cards. Earlier this year I transferred over 9K to a 0 balance card. My goal is to have it paid off by next March when the 0% expired. Basically what got me in the most debt was purchasing a timeshare (that I never used) almost nine years ago.

Can anyone help me or does anyone have a copy of a letter I can send to the MO AG and to my illegal pdl companies? I have at least 4 that are illegal and not licensed in Missouri that I have overpaid on and I need help sending them and the AG a letter

I live in mississippi and have found myself in over 3000 in payday loans. All are over the internet. I go hurt at wk and needed help making ends meet. I closed my checkings account last week so they cant take any more of my money. Have been paying on all these loans for over 2 months now. How do i find out if these companies are illegal loans in mississippi? Also what type of trouble will it cause me for not paying these loans back right away? I want to pay them and will one at a time. but it will not all happen overnight.

Hello - EZ cash media has turned me over to a LEGAL collection agency called Security Check, LLC. How can this happen and what do I do? I am in Oregon

I was recently sued by a local attorney for a defaulted credit card. This happened at the same time as my being laid off from my job. Before the layoff and right before I received a Summons and Complaint, I sent the lawyer a letter proposing a payment plan wherein I would pay $75.00 per month. About a week or so after the layoff, the attorney sent me a Stipulated General Judgment and Covenant Not to Execute. The gist of it is this: if I pay the $75.00 per month, they won't take further legal action. I guess my question is, what do I do now?

does anyone know if High County Ventures (formally PayDay Loan Center) is legal and licensed in Missouri. I had a lone out with them for $300 and have repaid $500. Thanks

My husband was served by CCSD & hew called the law firm on paper work to find out what this was about. Who ever took this cc out in my husbands name had the WRONG date of BIRTH & WRONG social security number said Pedro J Zabala himself or office... My husband tried to explain that he never got a court notice and to find out the notice was taken to his mothers and they don't speak so there you have it... we were NEVER informed of this paperwork then the legal action came about only to find out that someone put a credit card in my husbands name and this Pedro J.

This is my biggest pain, does anyone have any idea how to make them to cooperate? I had flavor of all kind of CC BoA, chase, disc, amex, wamu, citi, hsbc store card and was able to work through on settlements some still in progress but mostly sattled or trying to wait bit longer to get better %. But this one is strange no calls, no letters, nothing, they keep adding late/over limit/interest fees and no communication.
