If a debt is charged off, the debt collectors can still come after you and sue you correct? Or garnish your wages? Where as if you file BK, even if the debt is charged off, then is it gone and they cannot come after you, right?

Could someone please provide me with accurate address, fax numbers and/or email address too. I have been trying for 2 to 3 hours to email my wage revocation and cease and desists letters, but they keep bouncing back. HELP PLEASE they are call me every single day and have told me that I need to have this $1100 loan repaid by Wed. the 15th....they will not accept a partial payment and are now threatening to contact my employer. PLEASE HELP --- I want to send the letter to them today, along with a copy of the Refrain and Desist Order from the State of California issued on 08/2008. HELP HELP

for some odd reason going on day 4, still no loan from this group, I had been approved and they gave me a tracking number. do you think it might have something to do with the weekend ? I hope so. Could someone tell me how to resolve this to find out where my money is ? thanks hazeleyes

I settled 3 Chase accounts and had the settlement agreement sent to me and the whole 9 yards. I paid them in 4 payments, recieved a letter stating my account was settled after completing the payments. Fast forward to Friday. I get my TransUnion Credit report and all the Chase accounts are marked with a 0$ balance and settled on them. In the top right corner of all the accounts it states " Paid after charge off / collections" My question to the recovery dept. on Monday is going to be - why does it state that if I agreed to settle before charge off?

Some of you probably remember me. I'm in MA and my husband and I had 6 ILLEGAL Payday loans. I say "had" because it "seems" we may finally be getting out from under. We sent our letters and received a PIF from Geneva Roth. So nice of them seeing as they got $1500 on a $500 loan. And we haven't heard back from 4 of them. My Cash Now, United Cash Loans, PayCheck Today and Dollar Quick. So, I guess it's just "wait and see" with those. My question is how to respond to Cash Transfer Centers.

In reading other forums its seems as soon you send a Validation letter you are opening a can of worms, the same about a letter stopping phones calls, really that does not brother me, Phone rings I say hello, is this YOUR NAME, so I ask them there name first and last, address, name of company, phone, fax. All the time they are asking My Name still have not gave it to them. What is a good plain of action to deal with these people, they have been calling for about 2 months.

I woke up this morning way too early and immediately started mentally juggling my bills trying to figure out how to get everything paid plus the pdl's for the next 3 weeks (just like I have done every morning this week) and can't do it. So I thought if I just get 1 more pdl then it will be okay and I can start paying them off. Then I came to my senses and thought stop the madness!! close your checking account!!

Is it legal for a payday loan company to buy checking account numbers from third parties?
