I live in Washington State.... and of course they are illegal in this state. Everyday they call my work. Everyday I tell them to stop calling. They immediately call my cell phone & leave nasty messages on them. Calling me a thief, saying I stole money from them. I have sent them the "illegal" to operate letter & a C & D letter... They just call now & say I am a sorry, theiving loser hiding behind the FDCPA and its rules that dont apply to them.

I saw lots of inquiries on my credit report by companies, banks, and agencies that I have never had business with, or, applied for credit with. Did they get my personal credit information? Does this effect my credit scoring? How can I stop them from getting information?

does a PDL have to follow the same guidlines as a 3rd party collection agent. If not what rules do they have to follow when collecting a debt.

I am considering entering a debt settlement program with this company. Has anyone worked with them or heard anything about them?

A friend of mine has about $50K in private loans. He's been faithfully paying on time every month. However the rest of his debts (credit cards) have all defaulted and he wants to file Bankrupcy I've seen you say in other threads that filing for BK will automatically default a student loan, is that the case even if he's been paying on time every month?

My wife had multiple accounts at our local hospital. She allowed one account to go 90+ days w/o a payment. She was paying on the other accounts at the hospital during this 90 day period. This one account went to collections. I spoke with the hospital, and they are ok now, they understand what happened, and saw that we were paying our other bills. However, the bill went to collections. The hospital said as long as we pay every month we will be ok. The collection agency said that my wife's credit will be damaged from this incident.

I am currently 90 days or so behind with a multitude of credit card companies. I have made small "good faith" payments when I could. I have never dodged a call from them and luckily I have not had any accounts go to CA's as of yet. I have discussed the possibility of settlement with most of them. Seems liike BofA, Chase, and Citi are most willing. The quotes usually start at 75% of the balance which I cannot afford. I could do 40-50% I hope. I would prefer to settle with some and save face with some others where the balance is small. Here is my question.

Does anyone know phone numbers for the three credit agencies, where you can actually speak with a real live human.

I cannot find out if this company is licensed to loan in the state of TX. I had to default on a loan that I had with them, and I believe it was for $200, and now the company is calling me at work, which I told them not to, and threatening to serve me at work with court papers saying that my total balance is $604. Can they do this and how do I stop collection efforts. I believe that they wanted my human resources number so they could try to garnish my paycheck for this balance. Can someone help me?

i have a lot of student loan debt and want to consolidate. however, i'm sure that because it is a private loan they're going to run my credit. do you know what is the lowest score i can have to consolidate?
