Has anyone seen these commercials yet where the Federal Trade Commission is mocking freecreditreport.com's TV commercials. YES!!! Finally someone is going after them for misleading people into believing that they are going to not have to pay anything to see their free credit reports. I'm sure that almost all of the money that they are making is from people who sign up for the free credit monitoring trial and then don't cancel in time before they get charged. Go FTC!!!

I live in Arizona and have gotten several letters from what appears to be law firms with most operating under LLC names.  In the letter they state that this is a communication from a debt collector.  This is an attempt to collect a debt, any information obtained, etc...  the standard paragraph you see everywhere. My question is, Collection Agencies need to be licensed in the state of Arizona...  does that apply to law firms too?  Example:  Jerold Kaplan Law Office, P.C.   are they are law office or a debt collector? If they do not have a license how do I handle the response to them a

I have recently gotten a letter from a collection co. called Integrity saying I owe Zip Cash 825.00 on a 500.00 loan. I had paid 450.00 already before I closed my account at the bank. Are these guys for real or what? They are willing to settle for 500.00. Please help!

4 of my 6 private loans just dropped like a rock, last quarter they were 7.75% and I just checked today and they are now 5.4%!!! You can bet your fanny I'm using my tax returns to make a big payment and then see about getting my monthly payment recalculated. Who knows what next quarter will hold but i'm definately taking advantage of these rates

Hi, I just made my ninth and final payment towards rehabing my defaulted student loans.  I was therefore surprised to receive a letter from the California Student Aid Commission requesting a new agreement be signed with Premiere Credit at double the payment amount.  It also stated that if a new note was not signed, my wages would be garnished immediately.  I contacted EdFund and they stated they could not figure out why the garnishment was being pursued as they could see my record of on time payments.  I am loathe to call Premiere Credit due to their less than reputable customer service. 

We are just starting the process and I have a few of questions: We were going to sell an older model car that we own (worth about $2000) and turn around and buy a different car. It would basically be an even trade (we may have to come up with a couple hundred dollars). We just filed Ch. 13 yesterday and the lawyer says we should wait.

I am sorry to keep posting but now I have an urgent need. The bank "supposedly" froze our account BUT the loan payments went through. We are now $2200 in deficit between the payments and the bank fees. The manager said she can reimburse the fees but can't do anything about the payments. I have a knot in my stomach and I'm shaking. We simply can't afford this ! We are behind on everything because of these "loans". And they have been paid for many times over. Can someone/anyone tell me what I can do ? I am in Massachusetts and these types of loans are ILLEGAL. Thank You
