Hi. I've been reading some old posts on here and have seen how helpful this community has been, so it's my last glimpse of hope, and i'm praying there's a chance to put an end to my problems. I like so many others have fallen into the vicious PDL circle and can't find a way out. I am an Idaho resident and my loans are online lenders. They are all in default because I ended up getting my hours cut and had other more important things like heat and housing bills to pay.

I paid $490 back on a $500 loan with the Loan Shop Online. They subsequently were harassing me for $160, which would be the $10 to satisfy the balance, in addition to $150 in fees.

To send the attorney the server processor fees? I've been calling a particular law firm for almost two weeks trying to find out how much the actual bill is. I was told they should get it this past Monday. So I went in, and paid it, but they still don't know how much the server processor fee is. Now when I went and paid it yesterday, they said they don't have it, now they're saying Wednesday. (Yeah I probably shouldn't have paid the full bill and est server processor fee) but I don't want a default judgement on my credit report and it was a valid bill.

I got a call from a toll free number yesterday I did not recognize and when I googled it, turns out it was from Jefferson Capital. They did not leave a message and I have no idea who they are calling in reference too.. SO knowing that I have some debt collections that are atleast 7-10yrs old, I am not wondering if they are trying to collect on a debt that the SOL has run out on ..

I have been in a similar situation before but my timeline is a bit better this time. I need $450 to be caught up on everything. I have about three weeks, and do not have any money (I am a bit negative, actually). This is so frustrating, I was able to work some hours on my former part time job but the hours are all cut again (they let us go because they cut down but sometimes call people back for a week or two). I have an interview at a department store later tonight for a new second job, we will see how that goes?

There are so many debt settlement companies that I don't know which way to go. Can someone please give me some direction.

I'm an experienced hand when it comes to dealing with collection agencies and attorneys. I thought this developing matter would be of use to others who might find themselves in a similar situation. I received a letter from an attorney in late February regarding an alleged debt. I responded to his correspondence with a letter invoking my rights under the FDCPA, primarily asking for validation of the debt.

Does anyone know of any good books or sites on living with bad credit. I'm several years in to Credit Purgatory. There's little else I can do to improve my score other than wait it out. In the mean time it seems like I can't do anything. Yet I know people out there with worse situations get by more comfortably than me.
