Are any of these statements and questions a violation of FDCPA laws?

I got a call from a 2nd collection agency recently (probably a bottom feeder). 1st CA did not validate debt as requested. I did record the conversation. She told me she was with a company called GC Partners which is a prelegal department for citibank. She did not say it was GC Services Limited Services which is a collection agency. She said they were trying to collect a debt for citibank She was asking for my husband's financial info. She was asking about cars, mortgage, and even knew my husband's name.

WAMU/Chase Settlement

First of all, I have to say that the customer service supervisor I spoke with there was very helpful, so I'm not complaining at all about that. BUT..... I got a 35% settlement offer from WAMU, which shocked me. It would save me over $6,000. The options were one lump sum or 4 payments. The four payments were still pretty stiff for me, but I'm determined to come up with the money and put this debt behind me.

Payday-loan-yes is impossible!

17 years 1 month ago
I am a resident of NC. I took out a $350 loan with this company. I had several other payday loans as well. I found this forum and realized that I needed to close my bank account which I did. I have defaulted on this loan and have offered them a payment of the principle amount of $350 by mail only. They have refused to accept payment by mail and have repeatedly refused to give me a copy of my contract. I recieved an email today from collections and they have told me that they will supply me with a copy for $35 which I must supply a credit card number for payment.

Help with what to do in Ohio

17 years 1 month ago
I have gotten in over my head. I am in Ohio. I have one storefront loan that I am working on paying down. The problem is that I have six other loans that I have obtained online. I know that I need to pay them back, but the fees are taking my entire paycheck every two weeks. Is there any way that I can get them to stop debiting my account and pay them down as I get in a better financial situation. The companies that I have the loans with are: The CashSpot Greenlight Funding National PayDay Big Limited Magnum Eastside Lenders Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Northland group

I just got off the phone with Northland group, and by far they are the nicest CA I have ever dealt with. Their offer is outstanding saving me $11,000. So I plan on trying to work with them. Cross fingers for a big tax return. Now, on the flip side Ascension Serivces, is an awful group of people. who continues to harrass me, my neighbors, and relatives. All for a debt they have yet to verify and ignore the do not call certified letter they signed for.

why wouldn't OC settle for low but CA will on same debt?

17 years 1 month ago
I have few OC where I'm already pass due about 90-120 days but everytime I approch them about settlement they first trying to get me on some repayment program when I explain my situation and tell them I won't be able to do this and all I can do is either settlement for as low as 20-25% or I'll have to do BK they saying lowest my accounts are qualifying for is 45% in 3 payments in 3 months so at this point I'm saying "Thanks this is exceeding my ability to pay" I know what I can afford and what my financial situation is and if I agree on 45% with OC #1 than I cannot pay OC #2 short of long, wi
