I have 8 credit cards, two are under my ex boyfriends name, that have not been paid and i have been getting letters from debt collectors and capitol one just sent me a summons today, i have two checking accounts that are negative and need to be paid off, and I owe the the state univeristy money. I don't know where to begin or what to do can anyone tell me the first step?

Why would Teletrack want to pull my credit report? It was done 1/30/09? I do have some default PDL's but that didn't happen until the end of Feb.

Has anyone used or had a good experience with DCA? I joined 5 months ago and to date nothing settled no one has been contacted. I am having second thoughts after losing $3000 so far... Help!

Is there any specific wording when filing a complaint that would be helpful

I have several PDL's or which none are legal licensed by the WDFI. Does anyone know what exactly this means? If I am reading this correctly, they cannot charge an interest rate over 18% if they are not licensed. And how do I figure out if I have paid the 18% by now on these loans? Thanks for any help

I've got a quick question that I hope someone here can help with before I send off the Debt Validation letter. I just received a debt collection letter from AFNI for a Verizon Landline (Long Distance) that I used to have in New York. I left New York in 2004 and moved to Illinois where I currently reside. Which state would I use for the Statute of Limitation for this? What type of account is a telephone bill considered and would my SOL be up?

I closed my account over 6 weeks ago, moved direct deposit, etc. I just got a call from the corporate office of my old bank that my account is not showing closed. I closed it at a local branch and provided copies of ACH stops, etc. The account was CLOSED. Am I going to be liable for anything

I'm not sure what to do - I'm at a point where I can settle my American Express card - but they are only offering 60% -- has anyone gotten them down to lower that that lately? They've sent it to collection (not the best people) - but I'm only 4 months late - just not sure what to do.
