I'm considering using Dyer Beech in San Diego to handle my home loan and debt settlement. They advertise as being a full service company with a good BBB rating as well as members of the san diego chamber of commerce. I already spoken to them on the phone and plan driving down there to meet in person. Anyone has any experience with this company? Appreciate any input.

I am in a fight against Unifund and am doing a lot of research. Does anyone know where I could go to get information on the debt buying business SPECIFICALLY the average price paid by a debt buyer for a charged off credit card account. I'm an academic and enjoy research. Thank you!

My debt was bought by Unifund from JP Morgan Chase in 2005. I have the date of the transaction. Can I legally subpoena the actual invoice so that I know what Unifund paid for my debt? If so, how much would this cost me? Is this admissable in court? Thank you.

I moved out of my parent's house 6 months ago and DC are still calling my parents house for me even though they told them repeatly I do not live there anymore and to stop calling that number. They don't want to give out my new address and phone, they tell the dc they don't know those. Would it be just wise to tell my parents to get what ever information they can and just send a C&D letter to the DC using my old address?

is it possible that i lose the house if I went ahead with the debt settlement. it is all new to me and it is scary. I am learning and I keep my ears open. Thanks for all your help. A.M.

I'm sure you know how it is. I had a car accident that was cited as no-fault and took out an Internet payday loan with an Internet payday lender to cover my deductible. In order to pay that loan back, I took out another and another, and now I'm up to my eyeballs in payday loans and can't afford to pay my regular bills and am in danger of loosing my car, etc. completely. My checking account has had a negative balance for the past two months.

I got down to the courthouse on Friday only to find out i needed to have another form filled out by a 3rd party not involved in the case, a declaration of service. It was too late to get that done and it was the 30th day since I was served the summons. The clerk said I could come back on monday and file the papers. She said they normally don't file a default that quickly and it wasn't possible to do before 2pm on monday anyway. does it even matter? Can I file the papers late, 1 working day, if they haven't files for a default judgement?

Depending on what happens during the month of March and early April, I may just file for Chapter 7. I have been searching the site for the answers to my questions, but could not find any straight answers, so hopefully, someone can give me some insight. I take home roughly $2200 a month after taxes, ect... (Family of 4. Wife stays home with 2 daughters) and as of right now, my minimum monthly payments are around $1028.00 a month.

I am in a fight against Unifund. They sent me an interrogatory asking if I am expecting a tax refund, which I am. I talked to the IRS and they said they can't touch it, so I put "Not enough information at this time." Can I be charged with contempt of perjury? As far as I'm concerned, it's none of their flippin' business. Thank you.

I am wondering if there is any iformation on companies/services available to US Virgin Islands residents! There isn't many credit counselors here? We were hit by Hurricane Omar and turned down for SBA & FEMA support. Things are out of control for our family of five and we need help!
