I actually got a PAID IN FULL e-mail today from one of the PDL companies! I am encouraged. I sent out my certified letters on Feb. 9th. I have 3 more illegal PDL companies I am dealing with. I have not gotten any phone calles from the PDL companies in a couple of days so maybe things are going to get better. :D I am so glad I found this web site! I cannot thank all of you people enough!

1. Do CA's inquire your credit report to see if you'd be a good case to take to court and what they'd get out of it? 2. If they attempt to seize your assets but you have nothing, I.e. an empty bank account and no known assets, (old car, etc) This is questions regarding another post I have which is complicated, to make a long story short i have something in collections which is not clear whether it is a private student loan or a loan by a school which was sold to a CA, not sure about that but...

Hi...just found this site and am really looking forward to gaining as much knowledge as I can. I have been served and have started to fight back, but am at a loss now...I sort of started fighting without really researching enough..so now that I have a court date I am sort of stuck! I don't know what to do. Is there any guide on the site on forms to file, wording etc? I have seen some references but cannot really determine what I need to do.

Is it my imagination....or do some topics and threads disappear? I have even noticed (I think) that some posts within a thread disappear from time to time.

Worked out an agreement with Chase in Jan. They were going to get the entire amount I owed them (including the $4k in fees they added since I went delinquent) over 5 years at 2% interest. I had to give them access to a checking acct. I agreed, made 1 payment, and trusted them when they sent me multiple letters saying that if I ever couldn't make a payment to "call them 24 hours prior to work out another date". I can't make tomorrow's payment. I am self employed and the money will not be there until after the 1st.

There is a collection company working for cash net usa that says I took out a loan with them in sep 2007. They have called me many times saying if I don't pay up they will refer the matter to the pasco county fla sheriff. Can they do this?

Hi Soaplady, I am sure you have answered all these questions. I have read the forum and this is very informative stuff, thank you for moderating it. My questions are these regarding the rehab: I have agreed through a CA to start repaying my defaulted loan. My issue is that they are demanding that I supply my checking account info over the phone. They assured me that they would not be withdrawing money and the Dept of Ed would be doing so by sending my bank check authorizations. So my question is, why wouldn't i be able to send the Dept of Ed these checks directly?

I had a pay day loan through fast cash and they are now contacting me using the name Pay Day loan yes. I am a Minnesota resident and want to know what the laws are governing this loan. I had closed my previous bank account because I was afraid of fraud by Pay Day Loan companies. I did borrow $300 from Fast Cash. I have paid back 2 payments of $90 eachfor a total of $180 in payments....this leaves me with a remaining $120 on the principle.... They sent me the following e-mail today how do I handle this. I am happy to pay back the remaining $120.
