how can i verify if my state permits law where if you pay less than the promised loan amount you cannot be charged the interest.

i have about 10 payday loans which are completely out of control. i want to pay them but i don't have any money left after they take their fees. should i close my account and try to pay each one off each paycheck? also i have seen on here that these loans are illegal in some states. what do you recommend?

I have about 120k in personal debt ( credit cards, personal loan) and normally have no real problem paying the monthly payments but because of some recent hefty medical bills I would like to negotiate a 1 month "holiday" from repayments rather than become a credit risk. Do you think this is possible?

Will Credit Card companies BOA, Chase, etc settle newer debt also? $8000 debt is 2 months old on 12 month 0% promotion.

well midland/ cohen and slamowitz are after me.. for a debt with bank of america. the amount was for about 11000 but theya greed to settle for half of it.. anyway.. i made a money order.. is there anything i should put on the memo? im living in brooklyn and their office is in long island.. spoke to them and they told me i can come to their office.. my deadline is on the 25th.. so im thinking about following that route.. or should is just overnight it? please reply.

I just can't afford a settlement company and am willing to do this myself I could really use someone who would be willing to guide me along the way to PM me so I have someone to help guide me. My income is starting to come up a little, I really don't want to go BK and I am sure it would be 13 and so what would I gain over settlement or consolidation and then have it on my credit report longer than if I just deal with it these other ways. Would someone be willing to help me. Thanks

I think I have read that there is a fairly large failure rate for Chapter 13. So what happens then? I am still not convinced that this is the way to go but I need to do something. I need someone to give me step by step instructions for how to deal with this.

A man answered first saying he was in actually in California with a similar accent, not newyork.When i started asking questions he denied knowing anything

I'm building credit from scratch and I'm wondering if the amount I transfer into the savings account would have an impact on how much my score is effected. I'm starting with $250, but will more be beneficial? How much do you recommend?
