I have (2) credit card accounts with the Pentagon Federal Credit Union with a total of $20,000.00 debt on both cards. I took the avenue of doing the letters/agreements myself based upon the sample forms I got from the internet. After 2.5 weeks I got a call from the credit union and they told me that they cannot deal with my requests. I would have to go to a recognized debt counseler or bankruptcy lawyer. Is it true that the credit union does not have to deal with me directly? Thank You

I am just starting Chapter 13. I have seen a lawyer, but I still have so many questions. Does this mean I have to pay my full amount of debt back? My lawyer was not clear. If I have to do this what is the point of bankruptcy? I could not pay it before I started filing. I want to keep my car that is why I am not filing chapter 7. Can someone please help. Thank You

I went by the addresses that I found on this site but I would like to resend them if anyone has another address. I did send the letters via fax and email so I'm sure they were at least received. Received dunning letter from Zwicker and Associates. They have been retained by G.E Money on an account that I have been trying since Aug to get them to work with me on when I knew I could no longer make the min payments. Their response was to keep sending collection letters and adding late fees. As a result, I am now about a $1,000 more than when this started. On Bud Hibbs site, Zwicker is listest as aggresive and not willing to work with you per all the e-mails people have written about them. I live in North Tx. They have a lawyer on staff in Austin.

I cannot seem to find a website that offers me info on how I can file a garnishment on wages in Iowa. I live in Texas & I loaned a married couple $215.00 on 1/3/09. I have both husband, wife's signature + my brother witnessed their signatures for me on the document that they borrowed the moneys and date they would have me paid off; I haven't been paid, they don't return my calls, letters, etc. Feel I have no alternative but to file a garnishment on this man's wages in lieu he is the only one that works. Hello, The only proof I have to take to court of my original debt, inflated by a collection attorney to 1,100. is my credit report stating my credit limit on this account. Is this acceptable proof of debt. Thank you for your help!! Greatly appreciated! :shock:

I would really love some advice if anyone can help me. I took out a loan for school(approximately $3000) which at one point i defaulted on. Four months ago, I entered into a rehabilitation program where I make an automatic payment (double my original payment) each month. I have not missed a payment and have paid over $400 in 3 months. But today I got a letter from the IRS stating that the student loan debt agency was taking my entire joint refund! I cried for an hour. It's been hard for me to come up with an extra $100 a month for this rehabilitation program but I have done so faithfully.

Hello, I made the err of trying to buy a house on Friday the 13th. Turns out that "Midland Funding, llc" took me to civil court in Orleans Court House in Massachusetts in 2007 for around $850. Apparently I was "served" a summons. I spoke with the Clerk at the Courthouse and she said that they have a copy of an undelivered summons letter that was mailed and then returned as I didn't live there. It seems that I have to mail a SAE envelope to the court house with the Docket Number and a $3 check to get a copy of the "three pieces of paper".
