PDL another company that does the same told me Longhorne might be a mistake but they are competitors so I'm not sure if it's ture or not.

I went through CCCS to pay off a debt with AMEX, alwasy paid on time, and paid the debt off early, and they reported it to the credit bureaus as a collection. Who can I talk to at AMEX that could help? Have tried low-level folks with no success.
I received two collection notices from NCO Financial Services about 2 weeks ago. One of them was for me and the other for my husband. The accounts were originally from NES Systems of RI. Not recognizing any of this, I sent them two validation letters. Today I received both the responses and I am even more puzzled. They are both due to ER visits we made in '07. My husbands for a sprained ankle and mine cause my gallbladder wanted out of me. I looked back through my records and found the explanation of benefits from our insurance company for both the dates.
I replied to them through the cit of buffalo court that the amount was unjust and that i wanted proof as to if the debt was in fact mine. Along with that paperwork i sent them a debt validation letter they completly ignored the debt validation and now sent me a settlemennt for half the amount. The problem is that it was dated the 30th of jan and they didnt send it out until the 4th of february. I now have a little over a week to respond what should i do, should i send them a DV again or can i get this dismissed because of the time constraints. An help would be appreciated.
If LVNV sues me for an old debt, how do I prove the SOL has past? What do I need to show in court the SOL has expired? I do not have any old statements. My state SOL is 4 years. This is the fourth year since I last paid.
My boyfriend just recently had a garnishment taken out of his paycheck. He has that plus child support being deducted. My question is how can we get the garnishment reduced since the amount that is being taken out is leaving us unable to pay monthly bills including rent and utilities?
I've officially defaulted on a card for the first time today. I just cannot afford my minimums any longer and don't want to blow through my savings to do so.
I am considering going it alone (debt settlement) and I have one question to get me off and running. Should I be very upfront with them and send a letter explaing my situation right away (that I am hoping to eventually settle and will do my best in the mean time but can't pay the min.)? Or should I wait a few months till I'm way behind (ignoring them) and then send the letter requesting a settlement?
Hi everyone - first time on this forum but I am hoping to gain some good advice. We have a Lot loan in a development where the developer filed bankruptcy. Our lot is worth approximately 10-20K while the loan is 161K. We are up to date on all payments but based on how far the lot is under water we cannot justify paying this much money for the return.
Instead of going into default we are trying to work with the bank to reduce the debt. The bank has asked us to fax in an offer that they will assess and make a decision on.
I have so many loans but there is one debit showing up in my account and when I go thru my records I don't know who this lender is.
In my checking acct it shows Inlt Payment Svcs $75.00 no phone no nothing.
Does anyone know who this lender is???
