should i call them and tell them I closed my acct? and that I am reporting them

Anyone know what the SOL is in MN? I've found the penalty for a bad check, but can't find the SOL. I've got someone trying to come after me for a check that bounced in March, 2003. Thanks!

i recently gave out my account number 2 a debt collector for a 1 time payment after negotiating to about 40% of what was owed and am a little uncomfortable. any advice?

I'm looking into PDL Assistance.

Here is a long question. Maybe the SoapLady can help or anyone else. My girlfriend (gf) is a cosigner on her daughters Sallie Mae Student Loan. My gf's ExHusband is the PRIMARY CoSigner on the loan which was obtained in 2003. When she got divorced in 2005, the decree says that my gf will be responsible for the loan and that the ex was "absolved" of it. The daugther has defaulted on the loan and my girlfriend can not make payments and the exhusband is demanding she get him released from loan. No banks will refiance the loan and Sallie Mae will not take his name off the loan.

I just received the standard letter from them that many others have received about how they fundamentally disagree with my complaint but are willing to mark my account paid in full. While I am happy about this, I can't believe how many of us they have taken advantage of and how much money they have taken from us. According to a representative from CFSA, Cash Direct Express is a member of their organization and must follow the guidelines that their company puts forth. I am going to push for a refund of my overpayment and file a complaint with CFSA and see what happens.

I am a small business owner and have fell into some hard times with the economy. I have a debt of about 35k that Advanta sent over to Phillips and Cohen collections. So far they have called 2 times, but I have not talked to them. I was wondering, if we do not come to terms on a settlement, and they take me to court and get a judgement and court order to seize my bank account. Would it do me any good to open another account at another bank? and start putting the money there? do they have ways to find this?
