Does anyone have a phone number for Pack Management?

I know that there have been some discussion on whether a lawyer needs to be licenced to collect when licencing is required for colections. I know many lawyers try to get around this by saying they are a lawyer, not a collector, therefor, no licence neded. I have noticed this is especialy true of lawyers working for a colection agency insted of those nasty 'colector lawyers' who collect their own acounts. I think I have a good argument for those who are 'representing' a CA.

Letter I got from attorney says they were retained to represent XXX but at the bottom says the usual, this is an attempt to collect a debt and any information will be used fo that purpose an d so on. I could had sworn I read a case law or something about this being illegal or some violation.Anyone know a reference and know if true or not?They then turned around and sued me for CA.Trying to find something in regards to this to add to my defense.....

I am finally going to send letters to my payday companies..I have paid well over the amount that was owed..I have gathered alot of info from this site and am ready to take the next step.. I would just like people to read over this letter and tell me if this would be the letter to send to the companies.

Where do I find information as to if a debt collection agency is licensed in my state? I am in NC.

I'm on a payment plan and received a call from EZMoney because I missed a payment. Being on a payment plan, do I still pay more than the loan or do I just pay what I borrowed? I have paid the allowed renewal fees pls paydown fees until I defaulted and now I'm paying 105 per 2wks. The rep stated, if I dont pay the loan off it will go on my credit report and telecheck....Am I not finished with this loan in state of TX. and do I continue paying it off? Thanks

Okay I think that alot of people are like me and just cannot afford high credit card payments anymore. I have 3 cards that I have been unable to make even the minimum payments. They say I am in default. So now even if I was offered a great settlement offer, the money isn't there. Credit score is ruined pretty much so what is the main difference between these options? I know collection calls will probably double. I am leaning toward BK, just because as much as I would like to be able to pay SOME of this debt, my nail business is such that with things like they are I will never catch up.

Today I got a letter in the mail. It says essentially " Since you have not made payment arrangements, your account has been referred to our Legal Department for immediate review and action. if we do not hear from you within 15 days, we will be forced to commence legal action against your business and you personally. we really don't want that to happen." I have been to the advantahelps.com and explained that I cannot make a payment. it says on the letter that I can use that website to explore payment options, make an immediate payment and avoid legal action. I have no money. what do you think?

A lawyer for the car dealership that we bought a car for back in 2001 and was repo'd in 2002 is taking us to court to determine our vaules status and what are "worth" is. Is this legal 6 years after the car was repo'd?? They garnished my husbands wages in 2005/2006 for 14 months and got more then $4,000 from us. They stopped garnishing his wages & a year later they had me come in for a evaulation to see my "worth", how much was in our bank account, and what are personal property we had they could take for payment. I went & then nothing happened afterwards for almost 2 years.
