After a response is received for a DV letter sent to a Collection Agency.....How long do I have to respond to them?

I'm writing this because I think that it will help me vent the frustrations I have bottled up inside of me. Like many others, I am in debt and see no way out of it and just want to give up. I went to school and accrued about 40k in student loan debt. I currently work a job that has nothing to do with my degree whatsoever. Around the time I started college, I also took a credit card offer and am now about 5k in the hole with Amex and Bank of America. Honestly I am at a point right now where I just want to give up and say "screw it".

I've finally done it. I've emailed and/or faxed letters to all 14 of my pdl's. I closed my cu account last Friday and my cu opened a new one for me. I've offered payment plans to all the pdl's that I still owe money. I know from reading on here and previous postings that pdl's if not licensed, are illegal in Florida. I've offered to pay them all back the principal amount of the loan. The payments are small and will probably take me a year to get them all paid off. Now I'm scared to death as to what is going to happen. How soon do the phone calls start?

I recieved a call from a guy called himself lopez all he said was that he represents a law firm but didnt say who i googled the number and found its from a c a recovery and they seem to claim that they are lawyers collecting debts i am sure that they are trying to collect froma payday loan i have he said this is final time he will call me and i have until 5 pm to call him back or else tommorow morning it will be turned over to legal reps and that they will issue a warrant for my arrest anyone here dealt with these people

I have been following this forum for quite a while and think I've garnered enough information to move forward. But, I would like a sanity check.

Anyone willing to share their story if you went to court/arbitration against attorney for CC? What happened, what is the process? I got my summons and will fight the attorney but I am scared to death!! I also have no idea what to do now, I know answer the summons but what does that mean? My case if mandatory non-binding arbitration.What happens? Do you go into a courtroom full of people? Is it just you and the plantiff and mediator? What about when non-binding arbitration does NOT work out and you GO to court, what happens? Anyone care to share your story?

I have a couple credit cards that that are now a couple of month’s past due. I keep getting calls from collectors, In-house 1st party & 3rd party collectors and telling them the same story. No on is reading the Mini Miranda and the last person I spoke with hung up after I had asked him twice to speak with his Supervisor. I have a cassette recorder hooked up to my phone so I have all of these calls recorded. I’m wondering what I can do about this and if anything where I can go.

Hoping someone can read over this and give me some advice. Quick background:

Payday Yes - borrowed $450, paid $540, sent letter (similar to one below), no response (but I don't think they have called since) USFast Cash - borrowed $350, paid $345, sent letter (similar to one below), no response and no contact since Payday Loan Yes - borrowed $300, paid $180 (this is the one I'm writing about...) Bank Account was closed by bank for being overdrawn.

Hello, First of all, i am very impressed with your forums and the detail and efficiency of the help you offer to victims of payday loans! Thank you in advance for any help with my situation. I took out a payday loan with Ace Cash Express in Frisco Texas. I do not have the paperwork with me at the moment, but the original amount financed was $600 and the total payoff was over $700 with the interest. i defaulted on the loan, and my check was deposited a total of two times coming back NSF. I came upon hard medical times and was not able to pay for a while.
