Okay So I just got served a summons for some medical bills from 2005. I had state medical at the time which tells me the hospital did not bill properly. Secondly I never got a letter from the lawyer. Also, aren't collections agencies supposed to accept payment at all times and if they don't that makes the debt void? Please someone help me out. I got the papers served on Friday and only have 20 days to respond. I am totally stressing out.

Hi, I came across this forum because i defaulted on some payday loans. I intended to pay them but i am going though a very bitter divorce and custody (reason why i got the loans in the first place) and am unable to keep up with the expenses. I have loans with VIP Cash, Mesa Financial, Loan Shop Hampton and SGQ Ltd. Can someone let me know how to handle their collection calls? I would like to pay them off eventually when I get extra cash. Some are threatening to take legal actions against me.

I just need some quick advice, if anyone could answer me right away, that would be great. I have a PDL with both Cash Advance Network and Payday Max. I KNOW they are both illegal in the state of Indiana and I need to know how to go about getting them off my back and out of of my bank account. I owe CAN $390 and have already paid them $90 in finance charges, well over what is legally allowed in Indiana and that was my first extension! I owe Payday Max $474, and have only made one payment (extension fee of course) of $37 to them.

Just curious if anyone else has had this happen...once I sent the ach revocation letter to MCN they locked me out of my account (which I think is pretty standard) but now every e-mail I send to them is also bumped back. Is this their normal blacklist proceedure?

I'm probably going to be filing bankruptcy very soon. I have an appointment with an attorney on Dec. 9. My questions is though, is that we lost our dental insurance through my husband's job recently. Can I sign up for dental insurance through my work (it's open season until Dec. 10) without jeopardizing my potential BK filing? THanks.

I've been dealing with Loan Shop On-Line, which thanks to this site, I've learned is highly illegal in North Carolina. They called my job today again, and again I have told them that I cannot receive calls at my job. I asked for something in writing with what I owe and I would mail a money order with a partial payment. The woman, Jamie, said I should know exactly how much I owe and would not tell me!!

I put a deposit only on my bank account today, my pdl's will hit on friday morning. How soon do I send out my revoke letters? Plus I have multiple address for some of my internet pdl's...how do you know which one is correct and if there is no address or fax # how do you contact them? I know people on here have told me to ignore them but they continue to call. Today they called me work about 20 times in a row! What do I do? My lawyer has called them but they continue to call. He says he will call them again but will they ever go away?? How do we stop them??

We are in a real pickle. My wife's father had passed away (as did her mother) leaving huge debts on several credit cards. We had been advised not to pay them until the estate is settled. However, the credit cards are accumulating substantial interest and penalty charges that may double the original amounts owed by the time the estate is settled. Can I get the credit card companies to freeze interest and penalties on a deceased relatives credit cards? OR is it possible to have debt consolidation on a deceased persons credit cards?
