more than half my paycheck

17 years 6 months ago
I am getting to the point that I am paying almost half my check to payday loan fees. I don't even have contact for a lot of the lenders to call and try and get help. I don't know if there is a way to consolidate them. I can't close my account because I work at the bank my account is through and its way too many questions. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Payday loans and identity theft?

17 years 6 months ago
Hey, I have a thread on the identity theft board but have questions relating to it and payday loans. In short, someone in Goodyear, AZ used my social security number and name (though spelled my last name wrong) to get cable, phone and internet. I live in NJ. I am guessing he got this info online somehow from when my payday loan days. Has anyone else experienced this? I see no other way for him to have gotten it.. I guess just another reason to stay away.

Ridiculous- me Vs Hanna

17 years 6 months ago
SO if you look through the threads you'll see my deal with Hanna and to catch everyone up to date- I signed up to use a Lawyer through the NACA here in GA, and so far he's been sending things back and forth with Hanna who definitely is full of poo. In any case, I get an email 2 days ago that he finally got some proof via discovery letters, that they were definitely in violation of the Fair Trade Practice Act and that I had until the end of the week to file suit...which is $350..... that's money I don't have, not even a little!

debt collectors

17 years 6 months ago
I recd a call from a debit collector - Corporate Receivables. They say they are collecting for a debt to HSBC. I called HSBC they still own the debt (acct) however I should be maiking payments to CR. I told them I would prefer to make payments to them. They said that was possible however I would have to mail checks in instead of paying online to CR. I checked my credit report and HSBC still owns the acct. Can I send a CEASE & DESIST letter to CR to stop contacting us as we prefer to deal with the original creditor? Can they still contact us after the letter is recd?

My Cash Now

17 years 6 months ago
I had a pdl w/ my cash now about a year and a half ago for $500. I had been paying on it endlessly. I closed my bank account b/c I was drowning in pdl fees (I had others too). I neg/resolved most and paid MCN a final payment of $500. Yesterday I got a call from some guy saying that he represents a group that is part of the National Attorney Network. He said that they were getting ready to send me a summons to get a judgement against me for $5000 and might persue intent to defraud charges.

I'm now getting calls from a law firm

17 years 6 months ago
I was recently screwed by Hess Kennedy. I was going through them and now starting to receive phone calls from a law firm that supposedly has taken over what I owe to my creditor. I looked up my Credit Report and it looks like Washington Mutual sold my debt to this law firm and now they are trying to collect from me. I can't afford to pay much and they are trying to get me to settle with them and I keep telling them I don't have much. I told them I can afford a couple hundred dollars a month.
