When checking my CR, It shows another SSN# on there that is not mine. I pull the report using mine, but listed in the personal info there is the one that is not mine?
I'm so scared, sorry this is such a heavy post from a newbie, I apologize.
I'm an idiot, i screwed up. About 3 years ago i received a Capitol One Credit card and i spent about 1200$ on it. I didn't make any payments. The total debt is now at around 4400$. I know, i screwed up and at 25, this is going to hurt me realy bad.
I have been aiming for settlement for the last 3 months now. Have talked to a n no. of collectors from collections departments of credit card cos. but everyone has kept pushing me to make payments. Now that I have reached 90+days and about to make settlement offers my saga is all these days I have no money and now how can I make offers. Wouldnt they tell me that if I have money to make settlements why cant I make minimum payments towards my account. Just keeps bothering me everytime I speak to someone to make an offer.
After repeatedly emailing payco we finally received a response. Here is the email.
Reference: Payco Dispute
Dear Sir/Madam:
It has come to our attention that there is a dispute in question on both of your accounts. Payco has processed your loan on behalf of Credit Source Limited of the United Kingdom. You both applied for a loan on an international accessible website. This loan was not solicited.
Credit Source Limited is in the process of closing down its operation. However, because there are few complaints, it is our policy to settle all customer disputes.
I'd love to be able to talk to someone who has settled their own debt with credit card companies. I have 5 cards. 30k on a Chase card being the biggest.
If anyone who has been through this successfully wouldn't mind spending a few minutes working with me I'd be eternally grateful.
I'm current on my payments, haven't missed one yet but will soon if I don't do something.
Thank you!
I noticed this forum was a bit bare so here is my story. When i was 20 i decided to buy a house with a friend of mine as an investment (bad idea). We rented this property out to his brother's who neglected the property and didn't pay the mortgage or water bill ($2000 i had to pay). That was only the begining of my poor decesion making...i got great credit for being a first time home buyer so i instantly got $10k in credit cards and maxed them on a lot of useless stuff (most of which i no longer have). The monthly payments seemed managable so i kept spending getting another $5k in debt.
