We have about $84K in credit card debt, all of which are 0% 0r 1% that we shuffle around to avoid rates higher than this. With this said, is this service right for us?

I am thinking of closing my checking account and opening a new one due to a couple storefront payday loans. I am looking for any advice on how to deal with the lenders regarding setting payments etc..Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The law says a borrower has to be offered a repayment plan of at least 90 days after 1st day of default. Is it Nevada law that the borrower must pay 20% down and then pay an amount for at least the following 90 days?

I was stupid and went to a cash advance place and took out a loan. I failed to pay it back, it was turn over to a collection agency. I called them back the first time they called and tried to set up arrangements, however, they want their money in full and are not will to negotiate any type of arrangement. They told me if I did pay they would turn it over to their legal department and take further actions including going to court and garnishing my wages up to 33%. Can they do this even if I am attempting to repay the debt?

i have two payday loans, one through ssm group, and the other through nevis marketing, neither of which i can find any sort of contact information. they were both for $250 with a $75 finance charge, meaning i get hit for $150 due to refinancing every 2 weeks! the annual rate on these is over 700% !!! that type of lending had to be violating some sort of usury laws. please help i don't want to keep ending these people money but they just keep debiting my account. oh, and i live in michigan, i don't know where there companies are located.

Hi..I just found out today that Mel Harris has frozen my bank accounts and I have no idea what this is for. I live in GA and they are in NY can I file a claim in GA? How can I stop them? Also, I have never received any correspondence from them thank you

Hello, I'm new here, and need some advice. I live in IL, and I have an installment loan for $500.00 w/Payday One. I made my first payment on Aug. 1, 2008. I have bi-weekly payments of $111.85. To date I have paid $671.10 which ONLY $103.70 has gone towards the principle. I FINALLY have a chance to pay the loan off on Friday (10/24/08). My "current principle balance" is $396.30, but the amount to pay off the loan in full as of today 10/22/08 is $455.75.....w/interest being tagged on everyday. My question is should I call them and see if they'll except just the $396 for the principle balance.

I stupidly took out a loan from Cashnet USA a few months back. We fell behind on our payments and couldn't catch up. So I've been trying to get everything together so I could send something. The original loan amount was $300. I paid them about $100 a few months back. Lately I've been getting a call from TRI & Associates saying that they are suing me and I need to send them $555 to clear up the account. I told the lady who called here that I cannot afford that, and I'd be happy to send in $100 now and then $50 a month until it is cleared up.
