I sent a certified letter to Trauner, Cohen and Thomas requesting a verification of debt, as well as, all account activity on the loan they are saying I owe $6048.00 on. Thing is I took out $3,500 and paid $4,500 on the loan....now TC&T is saying I owe $6K. I have told them multiple times I do not understand how they got a balance of 6K when I haven't heard from the original lendor in over 3 years. They sent me (finally!) some documents which included the original loan agreement: Loan amount, number of payments to be made and in what amount. It also included the interest for the loan.

My husband and I entered into a vehicle purchase agreement in June of this year with my uncle. My uncle has the vehicle financed through CitiFinancial. Upon reading the contract they signed it says they ARE NOT ALLOWED to sell, transfer or convey any rights to the vehicle without CitiFinancial's Prior Written Consent. My question is this: My husband and I have hit a financial hard spot and have filed for bankruptcy. We can no longer afford this vehicle and from my understanding we don't have any right in it anyway. Can we give this vehicle back to my uncle without being sued?

I'm a 20 year old college student. As soon as I turned 18 I got caught up in the lore of credit cards to the point where I applied for 3 and got accepted?! (BAD mistake on my part). Initially I was able to pay on all of them but then I eventually started to miss payments because of unplanned events (mom had heart attack, school issues ect.) and my interest rates on all 3 rose.

I just pulled up my credit report and Discount Advances and my cash now are showing up under Collections. I overpaid them both in 2007 but they just showed up on my credit report. Can I have them removed from my credit report or are they legally on it? Also, DRS Bonded (they handle 1st Bank of Delaware) made an inquiry on my credit report in June but I never gave them permission to do so.

First thank you for listening to me, second when i do send out letters to these places do i just send the registered signature required, i will NOT just stick a stamp on it and send it on its way. I plan on making copies for me of course and sending them with signature required, is that all i need? Any other suggestions as to letters to send to these people, do i state an arrangement plan or wait for them to then contact me?? I am getting closer to fixing this problem, but not quite close enough!! Any and all other info you can give me is greatly appreciated. thank you all again wendy

Looking for help with a situation. My Citibank Visa debt has been given to UCB to collect. I received a call in the beginning of this week threatening legal action for fraud and that they would collect it from my assets without even asking. Trying to make a settlement but an agreement has not been reached and the phone calls are getting more threatening and frequent? Any advice? Can someone explain a DV letter and what the pros of it are and cons if any? Thanks in advance.

What is the next step if a collection agency does not respond to a validation of debt.
