Should I make a offer to settle my debt over the phone or just sent a offer in the mail . I have read on here and credit information center not to talk to the ca's on the phone . And do everything in writing which makes good sense But I also read on this web site people saying cut a deal on the phone first then sent it to them . But they say you cant trust the ca I'm confuess about how to handle this

I live in FLA Being sue By Zakheim and associtates law firm over two credit cards. Sent a offer to settle letter last Thurday . They call Sat and left a msg on my phone that they would like to talk about the offer. I just want to get this over with and try to move on I have a few question: 1) Do I still need to sent a dv ??? They did have me service with count paper. One is a summon and Is a count date in oct 2) Do I tell them to respond in written ????? (To be on the safe side or not ) 3) It seem like pretty fast respond to my offer ???

I just viewed my credit report and found National Credit Solutions listed under Collection Accounts. I called them and they said it's for a book club that I joined and never paid for. Original amount due was $18.00 and now they want $183.00. I honestly never joined this book club nor received any books.

Got my checking account statement today, and found a "check payment" that I didn't recognize that was debited from the account. I went to my bank and found it was FIA Card Services. I do have a B of A credit card account with them which I unfortunately haven't been able to pay as agreed. My checking account is with a different bank (not B of A). The sent me a letter last month, "confirming my conservation agreeing" to a settlement offer with graduated, increasing payments. I have had NO phone conservations or other correspondence with them.

Ok, so my story in a nutshell is that I had a small company that had to go out of business because it wasn't making enough money. It took me about 3 months to find a new job. The final month of running the company, when we told our clients that we were quitting, about half did not pay their final bill. I basically had to live off credit for 2 months. Now I have ~$10000 in credit card debt and about $3000 owed to the IRS in taxes. In making sure that the rent/car/utilites got paid, it took me several months of ignoring my credit card payments.

Hi i just recently got my first credit report about a month ago. I just turned 20 last week and thought i had good credit (what little credit i have). Little did i know that in 2003 (i was only 15 at the time) a medical bill was filed under my name. When I called Medicredit corp they talked me into payin the bill, so i did. Now I can not get a phone call back from anyone. I have no receipt to even prove that i did pay, i paid with a debt card, and its still on my credit report. I have no idea what to do. Can anyone please give me advice. Can they legally do this to a minor?
