IS IT OKAY TO TAKE SETTLEMENT

17 years 8 months ago
Universal Fidelity offered me a 80% settlement in the mail for a old bill from Charter One Bank. I know that it is my debt. Should I have them DV the bill? I want to pay it but I don't want the other 20% to come back to haunt me. I have had no contact with either one yet and wanted to get the community's advice of what to do.

Hi, Our site's Ranking Chart (http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/american/) needs to be developed. We want to help our visitors to find out some of the best Consolidation and Settlement Companies of a state to get out of debt. In order to develop our ranking chart, we need some basic parameters on the basis of which we can rate the consolidation and settlement companies.

harassing calls at work

17 years 8 months ago
I make no excuse for my debt. But this takes the cake. I have on repeated occasions received phones calls at my place of employment. There are several people in my department named Elizabeth. On more than one occasion the caller from the company has failed to confirm that they have reached the correct Elizabeth and have shared my personal information with someone other than myself.

CareCredit

17 years 8 months ago
I am on the verge of possibly having to file bankruptcy, but the one thing that keeps me from doing so is I still need to keep my CareCredit card for medical emergencies as I have no insurance. Am I correct in believing that I'd lose CareCredit along with my other cards?

Settling debt on own

17 years 8 months ago
Since my BK was dismissed (they wanted $1500/month, which I do not have), I am goign to try to settle some of my credit card debt myself. Is the best way to call the individual companies and offer a set reduction, no late fees, and no interest, and tell them what I can afford a month? I figure if I could pay each company some a month, or at least a few companies, and get them paid off (for a reduction). I know I would need it in writing. Is it best to start this way and follow up with a letter?

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

17 years 8 months ago
Ok yesterday i sent my c&d letter to zip19 and informed them that I will only pay my principle amount through money orders and I got no response. I just tried to log on to their site and it says that I do not have access. I have always paid them on time and was due to pay them today but my account is closed due to this pdl madness. What exactly does this mean? I know I'll hear from them again since I still owe them money right? Btw, i live in ohio

Sued from before I became disabled

Back in 2005 I had a loan out for a car. I couldn't pay for it, I voluntary repo ed it and they sold it. Haven't heard anything since. I just got served for the balance of what I owed and what they sold it as $5500. The problem is I am now an amputee, disabled, and live off social security. What do I do now?
