Last week I received a call from Bay Area Collections about demanding payment on a four year old bill from American Medical Response. I never received a bill, I had insurance, and would have absolutely paid anything that I owed. AMR says that they sent a bill for a couple of months and I didn't respond (because I never got it!!) so they sent it to collections. That was four years ago and I am now hearing from collections? I have the same address that I have had for twenty years.

My mother passed away four weeks ago. Although my father is still living, he has dementia and is not capable of handling his personal business. My mother had a couple lines of credit in her name alone. Is he still responsible for payment of these accounts?

I know pdls are illegal in ny,how do I know the companies are illegal or not, cashnet usa, first cash advance,payco, cash advance net work and my cashnow.I have defaulted on these loans back in june and haven't got many phone calls or emails. Just wondering if that is yet to come. I signed up w/pdl assistance and they have been good so far, I have paid them 2 payments already.I would like to try to handle the overpaid ones my self. Any info on first cash advance?

2002 our Suzuki is repoed, sold at auction 4less than 1/2 value. Next a judge found in favor of MacDowell and Associates, owners of debt, for $6480 & lawyer fees, and interest. After dealing with a rude Mr. Guzman, began garnish my wife's wages $800 a month. I cant live with that much being taken, I would have to file bk. Oh Mr G was ready to make any consideration in return for repayment. Agreed to stop garnishing, and to 2k down and 200/month for 2 yrs. Ok and repaid up to 22nd month. Never would he provide an acct'g, said they did not do that.

I have talked to this company over the phone and delayed thier collection process by telling them I would pay then on 09/03, but i do NOT want to give them my new checking information. I have filed complaints with the BBB, AG and FTC, but I have a feeling this doesnt stop them...i want to avoid the phone calls at work, but is there anyway to deal with these nasty people? it was a $200 loan and I have already paid $725. I am scared about the actions they will take. my bank account is closed but it seems from what I read these people stop at nothing to make your life miserable.

I am new here so apologies for any incorrect form. I have been in recent contact with a most rude man, John Donnis of ACM Group. He called my wife with threats of a lawsuit and a lien on our home over a debt from Direct Merchants Bank, now owned by HSBC. I called him, whereby he proceeded to try to read me the riot act, when I attempted to respond he told me not to interrupt. Again I began to ask a question whereby he hung up on me. The debt in questioned was paid over 3 years ago, when my wife and I used a debt consolidation Co.

I'm totally unfamiliar with forums and am very impressed by all that people helping others on forums. Why do they do so?

Per instructions here I put a hard block on my acct and will be closed tomorrow...was waiting on something to totally clear out of pending. I emailed all my PDL's with the letter. I contacted BBB, AG and FTC. I'm in Ohio to refresh memories...my post is half way down pg 1 if you need more info. I haven't contacted CMG group yet b/c I have no email on them...I have called them 3 days and left messages with no response yet. Anything else or just sit and wait?

Can anybody recommend a legitimate debt settlement company? Thank you.
