I just did the freecreditreport.com and I noticed I have a collections debt. What the hell? I have not been giving any letters or anything regarding this, how do I find out what this is and what agency this is? Or find out if it is fraud. This obviously is hurting my credit score Very Confused -m

I have $60,000 in debt. My accounts are all current, but I am barely making the min. payments. We have moved and changed our lifestyle and live on the cheap, but we are not making any headway. Can I use a DNP if my accounts are current? Do I have to wait to contact someone until my accounts are delinquent?

Hi guys, I came across this site while trying to find out more about Asset Acceptance. I sent AA a DV letter in connection with a dunning letter I received from them re a disputed Bally's invoice/debt. Their response to my request for 'documentation of the debt' was - 'Please be advised that this account is closed and is no longer handled by this office.

Has anyone has any experience with Daniels and Norelli law firm. They are calling me and my employer threatening to freeze my bank accounts and garnish wages, I have asked for DV by certified mail. I tried to set up payment arrangements but they refuse to take them they only want payment in full. I am NOT sending them anything with my bank info. I live in Indiana and they have not sued so I know garnishment is not going to happen at this point.

I had a federal tax lien filed on 10/2001. After over two years of paying it back, I was able to pay the rest of it off last year. When does this come off of my credit reports: 7 years from the lien filed date (10/01), 7 years from the released date(7/07), or another date?

Question, i settled an account with a collection agency back in June for WAMU. How do I find out if they truly paid my creditor? I have an email stating that the account was paid in full but the lady at the collection agency told me she would send me an official letter in the mail, havent' received anything yet. I know some collection agencies still work with the original creditor and when you pay them it goes to the creditor, correct? How about the accounts that go to collection agencies that don't work with the creditor?

I got a call from an atty's office this morning trying to make me a settlement offer on some payday loans....if I do not take the settlement with the option of payment arrangements they will continue to take me to court and I would have to get an atty to represent me....this is 2 payday companies who is pursuing me for 1709.95.....and they are offering me a settlement of $1,100.00 to make arrangements on. Can they do this....is this legit....they are giving me 24 hours to decide what to do.

I received an email from them today saying I am approved for a personal loan (not a pdl). I did apply online for a personal loan a few days ago when I was trying to figure a way to get my pdl's paid off on a website credit.com, supposedly for bad credit. I looked at their website, and they apparently do mortgages, etc..as well. The problem is, they are not listed on BBB online, and when I put their 866 # in yellowpages.com nothing comes up either.
