Paying off credit card settlement for Dad through my checking account. Is this a bad move?

I very stupidly got into some post Chapter 7 BK debt. My BK was filed in April 2006 and discharged in July 2008. So I should have been free and clear with a fresh start, right? I don't know how I did it, but obviously I was living beyond my means. I was scammed out of 2,200 in an advance loan fee scam, but that only explains about 10% of my total post BK debt, which is about 25K. I know, how the hell did you do that? Really, really dumb.

I have a PDL loan with Astro Lending. It was for $300 and I have paid almost $1000 in fees to them and they're still debiting it from my account every payday. I don't know what the laws are in TN but it seems like this is a little out of control. Can someone tell me if there is any law that would prevent them from being able to do this. I would like to take care of this without having to close my checking account. Thanks!

What can I do about lenders attempted to contact my supervisor. My sister in law, who lives in NJ, spoke to someone in the Syosset, NY office. They have taken $250 from her every month since january but paid not one creditor. They are telling her that she hasn't given them "enough" money to pay any creditors. But they have over $2000 of her money, so I find this hard to believe. We used The Credit Card Foundation (TCCF, or godebtfree.com) to relieve our credit card debt and have constant contact with them, as well as a website to log in to see exactly where our payments went. She lives in NJ, the firm is in NY, and I'm afraid she has been scammed.

Cash Call sent me a letter offering to lower the interest rate (96%) to 47% and that reduces my payment to 117 dollars a month. It will also bring my account current. Would you do this or take chances on court eventually?

I just called Direct Loans and they were already closed, but the automated system said my loan was 'paid in full'. I know this is not the case as i have not paid them a penny (I was calling to get setup on the rehab program). Does this mean they have sent my loan of $3000 off to a collection agency? If so, does that mean i can no longer do the rehab program? Thanks everyone :?:

I posted this in the debt forum before I realized there was a specific one for credit. Please delete the previous. I received a reply from a DV I sent Nationwide Recovery Systems today. Their reply stated the following: We are unable to locate the debtor/account by the information you provided. Please call our office at (xxx) or fax additional information to (xxx). Thank you. Frogpatch stated this was a failure to validate, so where do I go from here? Do I submit a dispute with the CRAs or send another letter for deletion?
