Premium Asset Recovery Corp send us collection letters.

17 years 11 months ago
My husband just received collection letters from Premium Asset Recovery Corp, dated 6/11/08 for old hospital bills. One is from 12/26/00, one is from 5/28/01 and the third one is from 10/12/02. The original hospital never pursued these accounts. They are not now (I pulled all 3 credit reports)and never were on his credit report. What is the statue of limits on medical bills in OHIO and how should he respond to this? We were seperated at the time and had no health ins. We struggle to get by so there is no way we could possibly pay these now...they total over $11,000.

harrassing calls - National City bank

17 years 11 months ago
So in the last 2 weeks.. 1.National City bank called my neighbor and told them to give me a message about an unpaid credit card bill 2.Today there was a call from a payday loan company telling me that they are pressing felonly charges against me and that the next notice I will be given is from the sheriff dept enforcing the law and that I will be going to prison for 2 years... Are these calls legal and is there anything I can do about them? I would pay them but being out of work have no income to pay anything...

Secured or unsecured debt?

17 years 11 months ago
Hi again, I have another question: WHat exactly is considered secured debt? I applied for a Kays Jewelers card a while ago and used it about 6 months later to purchase an engagement ring. Shortly after a proposed, I lost my job and have been unable to make payments. This account is now about a year overdue and I am starting to get enough cash to pay it off. Would this be considered a secured or unsecured debt? Im worried about them trying to take my wifes ring away from her if I dont have the funds in time to pay it back.

NOTE: I posted this earlier but I wasn't logged in. I tried to search for that post but couldn't find it (where's the search button? had to search by page). So I am reposting but this time I logged in. Mod, if you find the OTHER threa d(should show "Guest" instead of me), please delete that thread. Hi all, I have an old charged off account (about 7 years) that remains in my credit report. This is account is posted by the bank (let's say BANK A), NOT collection agencies. However, all collections activities has stopped.

PA help needed - Union Privilege card and ERC

17 years 11 months ago
Hi, I have a debt from Union Privilege card-MC and apparently they sold my debt to ERC. I stopped making payments on the card in 2007. The maximum balance was $500 and now ERC says that I owe them $1405 and said they are insisting that I pay with a debit or credit card the full amount. What should I do?

Borack & Associates Update!!!

17 years 11 months ago
Just wanted to share with you guys our experience: today was our "dismissal hearing" and guess what???? No one from Borack & Associates showed up. The judge was very calm and collected and called their offices trying to make a conference call. The call was answered by a snooty receptionist that did not believe that a judge was calling. The judge identified herself and asked for the "attorney" that had signed the motion to avoid the dismissal, and the receptionist told her that no one worked there by that name!!!
