OK so a few weeks ago some loud angry guy called me at work saying I owe them money. I was currently sitting at my desk with my boss and told him that I could not receive phone calls at my place of work and to please call my cell phone and gave him my cell number and hung up on him. He immediately called back and said why was i being so rude. i told him again i was not able nor wanted to receive phone calls at work and that I was busy and please call the number i had just gave him. I hung up again. Again he called back saying he knew i was not busy and , i said ok well I am an hung up again.

This is an old account I forgot about and found on my credit report.It doesn't show anywhere that it was charged off but still shows a balance, closed and 150 days past due? Address Identification Number: Status:Closed/Past due 150 days. $40 past due as of Oct 2006.

It's best to try and work something before your rent and bill checks bounce because we have you bank account money.

Can anyone recommend a good company I can work with to settle my payday loans? I am located in Utah, which from what I understand is a very friendly state to payday lenders. All of mine are internet loans. I'm adding up the totals and amounts right now. I'm not currently in default, but can no loner afford the payments. Should I close my checking account right away, or is it better to wait until I've gone into default? Also, once I go into default, will they immediately start calling my references?

Can I make a payment on my past due credit card bills and request (demand) that the amount be applied to the principal only? Otherwise, any amount that I am able to scrape together to pay will not even cover the late fees that have been charged. I read a post in another thread that said OCs will usually work an account for 180 days after the last payment.

Is there a sample letter of what should be stated in the letter to the court? Do I just tell our side of the story or are there guidelines to follow? Does anyone know of a way to get a pro bono laywer? Thanks, Heather

Well, I have been just trying to do the best I can here of late. I started getting a bunch of phone calls and letters, but most of these guys want huge payments of $100 a week...etc. I cannot do that right now. This morning I got a call from someone who says they are from Patrick Corbett's law office with a pending suit. I checked this out and there is a Rip Off Report on them that it is a co.
