It's been a week since I defaulted on one of my payday loans and I haven't heard a word from them...what does this mean?? I closed my checking account over the memorial day weekend but I've only heard from two pdl so far. I have five loans so I'm not sure what is going on.

Just writing in because I am needing to find some Consumer debt attorneys in Texas that will work with you if you are broke and have nothing! My son is out of the service and has no money...Zilch. They messed up his paperwork and he won't be getting nearly as much from his departure pay which means that he will have little to nothing to live on. He is unemployed and will begin looking for work, but in the meantime, he will be declaring bankruptcy but needs to be pointed in the direction of a law firm that will work with him budget wise and help him file.

Hi - I'm new here and very glad I stumbled across this forum! I have a few questions and hope that some of you experts can provide some answers. After using our saving to pay on our considerable credit card debt these last 8 months, I will not be able to make even the min payments in June. We here trying to buy time in the hopes that a business we were involved in would recoup but it has not and will not. My questions are: what will happen when I don't pay? I know they'll start calling but what else can they do?

Upon sending my C/D and Revoke Letter, I received the following response from CAN. I believe that he meant to say "Your" rather than "our," but the typo makes it even better. "Our research is incorrect…. We debited $80 this morning. If returned we will place your account with a third party collector and report to the credit bureaus." I wonder if he will enlighten me as to how my research is incorrect. Somehow I don't think the Attorney General will feel the same way!! I'm going to see what he says when asked to provide a license number! :)

Okay, so I've been reading the forums and have found useful information and I am needing help. I like many others, have trapped myself in some payday loans. I live in Texas and I don't know what to do. I'm paying quite a bit a month in just interest & fees and I just can't go on anymore. I did open up a checking account in another bank, and was thinking of closing my current checking account, but I'm afraid to do so because I'm not sure about the laws in Texas as far as closing a bank account.

I had a debt of something like 110 dollars about 2 years ago, it went into collections and I was contacted by a debt collector, they said I had to pay them the full amount, I explained to them that I did not have the money, they struck a deal with me that if i just paid the 55 dollars the check was for, my acount would be clear, so I did. now a year and a half later I am getting calls from zenith acquisition corp saying I owe them 55 dollars I didnt pay on this acount, I can not find any of the info from a year and a half ago and have no proof that they said i was paid and full. is this a s

I have just under $8,000 is debt, I am current with each one, never late, problem is, I'm not able to pay above the minimum due so about 66% of what I pay goes to charges and fees, the rates are too high, 30%, 28% 24% 22% etc... the lowest is about 14%, I have almost no income at this time, I can pay the bills, I want more of what I pay to go towards paying off my debt, I no longer use the cards, I stopped last year, I only used them then for fuel and food and it was not completely up to me, personally I dislike debt.

received letter stating that i had an outstanding debt for $1.654.90 for sears stores. i have never had a sears account i do not even shop in sears no one in my home has had a card in my name the agency has my address name & social security number . the agent i spoke to said that appartently some one i know or knew has used my info to aquire a sears account that i must dispute this letter though she said good luck in trying this that appartenly the card was acquired on line or in a store without actually producing any documentation what can i do .

My husband had an old credit card on his credit. It was through Sears and was paid off with no late days for the period he had it. It was back in 2000. It is showing positive on our credit, but wouldn't that still be detrimental to his credit if that card had a limit of 2000 and shows open? We called them and they said that he would have to reapply and that the account isn't open even though the credit report says otherwise. Any suggestions?
