Well, I'm trying to find info on Tom Landis from Pa. He's an atty who has been calling my parents demanding to talk to them about me. He revealed it was for a debt, and by the amount he quoted them I know its a debt past the SOL. My parents said he was quite rude, and belligerent to them. I advised my parents to tell him the next time he calls that since I do not live there, he needs to stop calling them and any more calls will be considered harassment. I'm not worried about me, I'm just worried about them, and putting them (innocent parties) in bad position.

I received a couple of calls and spoke with some Indian or Pakistani guys that seemed to be from overseas about from the Legal Affidavit department of US National Bank. They were pretty threatening about downloading a criminal or civil case against me for a supposed PDL of $450 that I took out from US National Bank in 2003. They said it would me $5k to $7k if this was taken to court. I asked if we can resolve this in another way - they said they can null and void this issue for a payment of $663.00. Is this something I should be worried about. Should I pay this amount?

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone knew the law for having to continue paying rent on an apartment that was deemed illegal by the State. I live in NJ. The landlord has given me three months to move out but I don't feel I should have to continue paying rent for an illegal apartment. Also, I never did get a formal lease from this landlord. The letter he sent me said my tenancy was terminated. Does anyone know a website that would list NJ laws that would clear this up for me. Thanks!

CashNetUSA debited my new checking without my authorization. Who can I report them to? They did not get the information from me and my contract does not state they can debit any checking account. It indicated an account that was closed on my contract.They were advised previously they were no longer allowed to debit my account. They claim they got my new information from my bank. My bank states that is against privacy laws and they would not release that information. I did fill out dispute forms with my bank and they are going to charge back to CashNetUSA.

Hello everyone. My husband and I purchased a new 2008 vehicle in March, and used an existing, paid off vehicle for trade in, which left us owing considerably less on the car than it books for. However, we've realized that our higher-interested credit cards and other obligations need to be payed off as soon as possible. We're wondering if it would be possible to refinance the vehicle and get some of the equity back? Example: We owe around $12,000 on the loan, but the car books for around $19,000.

So I received a call from "Kelly Smith" from "US National Bank" which brought me to this web site. I new from the jump this is some sort of scam... I mean really can you come up with a more generic english name for a non-english speaking person? Anyway, after reading several posts about US National bank I figured out what I already knew... that they aren't real. My question is what can be done about this? I have filed a claim with my states AG, but have been informed that it is a civil, not a criminal matter. So what happens to these people? Nothing?
