Has anyone heard of or dealt with preston financial group. they give the address of 40 Calhoun street, charleston Sc 29401. The phone number is 1-888-405-3693 and fax of 1-864-752-1712. web address prestonfinancial.org. They told me they are a loan broker company. The lender they are dealing with requires (because of my credit history) seven months of upfront payment. They sent me loan documents to sign that included a commitment letter, loan agreement and disbursement form A28-1. It looks legit but i'm still kind of scared. Its 5000 at 6.00Per Annum.

LVNV Funding

I received a collection letter today from LVNV Funding regarding a credit card debt. In the letter it states as follows: If you notify us in writing with 30 days after receipt of this notice that you dispute the validity of this debt, or any part, we will obtain verification of the debtor a copy of a judgment to you. What does this mean, are they saying that there already is a judgment?

Shared Knowledge and Experience

I was thinking about how many people are here from all walks of life. Many have knowledge and experience in non debt related areas. Myself, for example, am a commercial and residential lighting expert. I would be happy to answer anyones questions about lighting anything or anyplace. Someone else may be an auto repair technician, a EMT a skilled outdoorsman or what have you. Do you think it would be good to have a place where people could share their knowledge with others. For example, I go to the page and I see someone who is a bartender and I need to know how to make a sidecar.

500fastCash Settlement Offer--What do I do?

After two weeks, I received a response from my letter to 500FastCash, requesting a PIF and a refund of $195. I've loaned from them since December, and have paid $595 in interest alone. My current loan principal is $400, so wouldn't you think that I've paid the dues? This is what they sent me--I'm not sure how to respond to this: *** The deposit from the above agreement must be paid back. Deposit amount-$400.00 Amount paid as of 05/20/08-$120.00 Settlement Offer-$280.00**waiving all fees**-which reflects the repayment amount of the deposited amount to your account.

Credit Card Debt

My finance and I are having a little trouble with our credit cards and getting back on track. We are paying over $300.00 a month but the bills never seem to go down. I was wondering how debt consolidation works. Does it go on your credit report for bad credit for 7 years? If someone could please let me know and also, let me know a little more about your company & how it works, I would appreciate it. Thank you, Corissa Deveney

Is it possible to settle even if my accounts are current?

Is it necessary to be a few month behind on your payments to "scare" credit companies to settle with you?
