Okay here's my story... my parents purchased a house. We were living in apartments that were substandard. I lived below and they lived above, but moving into the house took every dime we had. I was working a good job until I threw out my back and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, I couldn't work for 2 months because of physical therapy. In those two months I became in debt. 6 months prior I had taken a loan to buy a vehicle for my parents. I had my debts taken care of for a while.

Has anyone dealt with them? I received a call from a Tina Watkins stating she was calling on behalf of Arrowhead Investments and that she wanted to settle what I still owe to them over the phone with a credit card. She told me that if I didn't pay by 8am today that she was going to proceed with the wage assignment and that I would have to also pay the court costs and any legal fees and she also talked about a 510-not sure what this is? Now this pdl is out in husbands name.

In Massachusetts and other states, it is illegal to record someone unless you have their permission. What I am wondering is if when you first call a debt collector and there is a recorded message saying " this call may be recorded" Do they still have to ask your permission to record you?

Hi! I'm in AZ, and I have 11 (eleven) PDL's. All storefront. I called PDL Eliminators, and they will take out my Enrollment Fee on Monday (I accept that as fair, it's not a free service), but I'm still dreading picking up my phone. I have left messages with all of the places with an answering machine, telling them I have entered a debt settlement program. Some of these places are getting mean, and are threatening suing me. The PDL Eliminators said they won't really do that, since it would cost the company more money than my loan is worth. And also to ignore the calls and messages.
