My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: CA A law firm/collector representing a credit card that is no longer on my credit report(statute of limitations has run out) has contacted me. I received these forms from the law firm: Notice to Consumer or Employee and Objection, Deposition Subpoena for Production of Business Records, and Subpoena Duces Tecum. These were apparently sent out to the credit card companies I currently deal with now. This law firm is seeking records from them for examination such as copies of credit application, checks used for payments, etc.

I have tried to open new bank accounts and they told me I was on chexsystems I paid the bank I owed. But when I try to open an account they tell my I'm in chexsystems. I got my report and there are no negative reports on it. But I still keep getting turned down. Why is this?

I need to find a cheap bankruptcy attorney ASAP, in the Philly PA area. Where should I look? I tried searching the philadelphia bar association but the site locks up. I dont feel comfortable selecting first page google results because they are probably paid adverts not experienced lawyers. Does anyone know a good resource for exp. BK lawyers. bank of america gave me an auto loan, which i couldn't pay on time and ended up being in debt, so basically if i owe bank of america $27,000 !. from beginning i made 6 monthly payments of $600, then i stopped for six months and they seized my personal checking account, so i asked to settle for half which is $13,500 AND they wont do anything nothing less than $14,500 , is that ok?

Hello, I am very upset right now and don't know what to do. I live in NC and was served a civil summons from Unifund, CCR. What actions do I take now? Can I still call them to set up a payment and have this not go to court? There has been no court date set by the way. This is a valid debt, just haven't had the extra cash to pay for it. The outstanding balance is for is for 2544.85, the credit card had an original line of only 1800.00 Please help me here. Scared in NC, Melissa

Okay so I spoke with my paralegal today and she also does a Credit Repair and she can actually get the BK taken off your credit report. I asked her how and she says it is all in a letter and how you state it. She charges 599 to do this I thought WOW I would love to do it but can not. Does anyone know anything about this or how to do this?

When writing a letter to an online pdl company because they are illegal in your state and have already been overpaid by you, and your requesting the account be marked paid in full, must the letters be typed?, can they be hand-written if you do not access to a printer for your computer, or is emailing them oK?
