Mornin' y'all - I'm contemplating legal action against a CA for FCRA and possible fdcpa violations. I have [I believe] a good paper trail on this, I'm just waiting on the CRAs to finish their latest round of 'investigations.' My question is this: Wher do I file this action? My state/county? Theirs? Somewhere else entirely?

Is it possible, without a court order, to voluntary have a wage detachment, to send to a creditor to pay off a debt? I'd love to do that. I have a somewhat big time money problem as far as paying off my creditors. when i have the money, i sometimes spend it. i should be paying them. if i can have the payments automatically deducted from my weekly paycheck that i get from my employer, i can satisfy the debt much more efficiently.

The statute of limitions on my credit card has run out. I live in California. And this debt has been charged off since 2000. Just recently I received a Notice to Consumer or Employee and Objection, Deposition Subpoena for production of business records, and Subpoena Duces Tecum in the mail from Rory Clark, Esq. Do I even respond to this? What do I do?

Hello all. I been using a Orchard bank Secured Mastercard for the last several months. It's been great, no problems at all. It's already improved my credit score by a few points!! Now i'm ready to add more money to this card and can't find any info on how to do this. Web site mentions I can add money but dosn't explain how. Called a few times but was on hold forever and hung up. Anyone know how to add cash to this card? Thanks for any info.

My boyfriend just received a letter from a law office saying that he owes an old credit card some money. This apparently happened about 10 years ago and he hasn't received anything about it in the past 6ish years. We have worked very hard to bring him out of debt (or so we thought). He's been paying off his credit cards in full for a year now... $0 balance on them. All of sudden, this letter comes in saying he owes $2100 from an old credit card from when he was 20 years old (he's 30 now). He had totally forgotten about this since they haven't tried contacting him since his early 20s.
