What would happen if i cant pay the payday loan back.

You guys must have heard that Puerto Rican's voted to have their territorial status changed to statehood thereby becoming the 51st state in the roster. I know that this has to go through the House and the Senate and it would also need Presidential approval and it is going to be a long drag. My question is: What would it mean for the legal status of the illegal lenders which we generally write off as being offshore and therefore, illegal by proxy?

I have been getting calls 2-3 times a day for over a month now. I have answered it once, I told them they need to leave a message if they want to talk to me since i dont answer 800 numbers. they never leave a message, now under the FDCPA it mentions: Debt collector keeps calling you on the phone, harassing you to pay the bill.

My wages are being garnished by Allied Interstate for a defaulted federal student loan. They called me and offered a rehabilitation arrangement that will essentially halve the amount I pay each month. This seems strange to me. Why do they want LESS money each month? The Borrower Acknowledgement Form that I am to sign and return states that "I understand and agree the lender may capitalize collection cost of 18.5% of the outstanding principal and accrued interest upon rehab..." I guess my question is this: Would I pay less money if I just let the garnishment continue as is?

I'm wondering if this company will get a judgement against me for this. I haven't heard from them in a couple months, though. My default was this summer, but there is no mention of this on my credit reports. Probably within a few months there will be? Has anyone dealt with this company? Am i likely to be taken to court? I live in Missouri. Tower Loan mailed a check to me and I cashed it. There were no loan papers signed and we have no other relationship. I have been unable to make payments, and wonder what they will do now. Can they garnish my wages?

I have contacted the payday loan companies I owe - the payments they want monthly are too high for me to do - they do not want to work with me on spreading out payments. I want to send a letter to them stating my own payment arrangements, my concern is that since it doesn't match what they said they "only could do" that the money I send will not be applied to my account. What can I do? I have been repeatedly contact my Payday Loan Debt Assistance out of Florida, but I'm shy of using such companies. Any advice?

i read the post of the success story which said that she started only a month ago and already had both her lenders send pif emails. i send my letters over 4 months ago, both of my payday loans had been overpaid, i advised lenders i would not request refunds if they would close accts and send pif emails, the lenders involved were one click cash and plain green loans. so far both have send multiple emails requesting payments or payment arrangements. i have resent emails at least three times stating that they are illegal and that they have been overpaid and requesting pif.

Curious -- when you are looking at debt and SOL's do you consider where you live presently or where you lived when the debt was incurred. Now that I have the illegal and legal loans in the process of being over, I am turning my attention to our credit reports and it is from the date last reported correct?

I was contacted by a collection guy he said Iowed money. He wanted to work out a deal I told him I could not pay anthing. Maybe later if I could, he made an agreement. I did not sign any and did not say I would in fact pay. I said if I was able witch i was not.He called me today, 5 months later. We got into it over my address I did not want to give it to him he had my email and phone number that was all he needed. He got mad. I called back and asked when was the last activity on the account he siad 3-1-2007. I told him I wanted a letter.

I have a very old and troublesome student loan. West has purchased my debt. I now have the means to offer them one lump sum and hopefully negotiate a reasonable settlement. Should I try this myself or should I seek a professional negotiator? How can I be sure that if I pay them a lump sum that they arent just pocketing the money and not actually retiring the debt once and for all?
