Hi everyone! I just received this email from CashNet USA about the Economic Stimulus Payment. My question is...How do they know what kind of refund I am getting? Can they take any of that money? I am kind of figuring they can't and it's just a scare tactic, but just wanted to double check! Thanks for any help! I am on temporary disability and I am worried that if I go after a debt collector and win, I may lose my monthly benefits which ain't much and also I could lose my health insurance which I really need. Anyone have any insight on this?

I received a summons from LVNV Funding for an old providian credit card. The actually balance was 500, however they want 1500 and have put it on my credit report. My last payment for the providian card was in 2005, but it shows charged off in 2006. How do I respond to them - they listed a lawyers name on the court papers. Thank you

Has anyone ever tried to re-age a CashCall loan? I got a loan with them last year and stopped paying in November, 2007. At that time, I was seriously considering bankruptcy and advised CC of that in my cease & desist calling letter. I have not heard from them since I sent that letter in December but their site still shows my account as active with a payment schedule and payoff - just no payments received. I decided not to file bankruptcy and have been working on a debt reduction plan using MS Money software I found mixed in with old computer stuff my ex gave our kids.

So I've settled all but 4 of my PDL hassles: SSM - had the nerve to tell me I agreed to their "governing laws" and not my state laws when I accepted the loan...WHATEVER Geneva Roth - the CSR called me AFTER they got the letter saying "let's discuss the letter" - I didn't, instead I sent an email saying the CSR needed to contact me via email - hasn't yet PaydayLoanYes (Cash500) - got hold to a dumbazz who was shell shocked when I told him to give me the license number allowing him to lend in my state - he then threatened me and I sent a very nasty email back to them.

My attorney sent me an email saying that the collecting "law office" dropped the collection and marked the original creditor "paid in full" in return for my attorney dropping the suit. They also agreed to remove anything negative off my credit report. Cost to me $00.00. Apparently the collector paid the fees as part of the deal. Hi, I have a collection agency (Unifund) who purchased a credit card account of 8k. They are know stating that the account balance is 19K. After several years of Not been able to settle the account I want to do i now. My questions are: -To whom do I send the DOLA request Letter? to credit bureau or the agency? -do I send the DV letter first, then the DOLA request? or at the same time? -It is right to duplicate the amount of the original balance? thank you.
