It seems a frequent topic in the world of payday loans is off shore lending. The reason lenders go offshore is very simple…to avoid legislation. The reality of the situation, however, is that they are not at all offshore. They register companies in places like the Bahamas, or Grenada as we often see, and claim to be offshore entities not bound by the laws of our nation. Cute, but not quite reality. In fact, they live in our communities.

I would like to get a loan to pay off some bills that have gotten behind due to paying off the payday loans, but my credit is not that great. If anyone in the community know of a company, please let me know so I can get in touch with them. Thanks and God Bless.

I know it differs from state to state, but does anyone know what our rights are? I have every intention of paying a medical bill, in fact I have been paying on it, but because of the billing system, i was 2 days late with the check and it went automatically to amo recoveries, who were very unpleasant.

Hey...I just got a call for my husband from Capitol Collections saying he was involved with a case he probably knew nothing about and of course it is probably over one of these PDL companies...but they said it was a *case*? Like it was him specifically. The number they gave was 1-800-973-5402...can they come after him for this? Or can they even contact him?

Hi about a year ago i had about 300 dollars left to pay and i was told that my capitol one had took my account back. I was never sent any type of letter saying that from eighter of the 2 partys. I just want to kno what is going on and why is it still afecting my credit and showing as a 600 dollar non payment?

Its a start but this is what I received in my email today, hoping to here soon from the AGs office. From: (I blanked his name out), Mediator BBB Serving Metropolitan New York Case: ###### Interim Cash Ltd Dear : The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has received your complaint. Thank you for granting us the opportunity to assist both you and the business to resolve this dispute. The BBB is currently presenting your complaint to the business; we will attempt to resolve this matter within six (6) weeks.

Seriously, I am doing something completely different to go after payday lenders. I really need your help. I will be taking this battle right at them in a really nasty way...the likes of which you have not yet seen. What I need to know is this....what would you all like to know about payday loans, payday lenders, or this industry in GREAT DETAIL. Please respond.

I Googled them, and they appear to be a collection agency, but they didn't come up under that name with the BBB or my state's attorney general office. They refused to provide anything in writing when I asked, and they called that a stall tactic on my part. They actually called me at work, and gave veiled threats of arrest for felony. The following is pretty much what the woman Veronica Masters said to me: You have been noted as a key element in an investigation of fraud and bank theft.
