I live in Indiana & have the following internet PDL's: 1. Paycheck Today - $300 borrowed. Have pd back $485. ACA Recovery is threatening to "litigate" if I don't pay another $300 by this Friday at noon (April 7). 2. Nat'l Money Store - $400 borrowed. Have pd back $510. AS & Associates is threatening to sue for check fraud if I don't pay another $305. They have also threatened wage garnishement. ACA comes across as if they are an attorneys office & AS & Assoc. refer to themselves as investigators. They are trying to get me to pay ASAP of they will file in court. What can I do?

This belongs to a company called northland group. They called my cell phone last night. No message was left. I googled the number to find out who they are. Saw some very negative comments about them. Just wondering if anyone has ever dealt with them and who do they collect for?

Does anyone know anything about a consumer counseling company called Consumer Law Associates, LLC. I want to know if this is a reputable company to deal with.

I honestly don't know how to handle these people as virtually every path I've taken for a Debt that isn't even mine is not working. I came across this site online while searching for solutions. here's my story. about a month ago I started getting calls from a 866 number. Generally I don't answer numbers that are 800 or 866 as I think they're selling something. but the calls kept coming. So I answered the phone and someone on the other end who was extremely rude claimed I owed them $500. I told them no I never took out a pay day loan as i'm self employed.

I did close my checking account where the following were set up. My credit union branch manager has assured me that once my account is closed that no debits or anything for that matter will be forced through. I told her about the PDL's and that they are illegal, and she even mentioned that the credit unions were involved in getting Oregon's landmark payday loan legislation passed putting a 36% cap on PDL's. Oregon was the mecca of PDL's when the store front business was booming and it was a real dogfight. The PDL's lobbied hard, but lost in the end.

Alabama law says max pdl is 500 but I live in Alabama and have a pdl right now for 680 through mycashnow.com (which will cost me about 900 dollars to pay off-big mistake, I know). What do I do?

Gang, I've been reading about the EPP. I'm in Ohio and think this is the way for me to go. I will have to do one at a time, but once its done its done. My question is, I notice most of the posts about the EPP say, that it goes by your states laws, I know what the OHIO PDL laws are, but where would I find info about the EPP in Ohio. Also, I see I need to contact the lender the day before the loan is due, do I have to pay that day? As that is the day before pay day and I won't have the money to start the payments until payday. Also, I have one internet loan with CashNet USA, will they do a EPP?

I'm sure some of you remember the thread I posted not too long back where I talked about how we are suing a CA. Well, we are about to sue another one. This is a local CA to me. Small-time, mostly medical collections. They contacted me and claimed that I owed them $209. A little checking finds that they reported to my Experian file. So, I dispute with the CB.
