Help! Credit card debt!

18 years 1 month ago
Hi guys! Just looking for some words of advice. I have about $12K in credit card debt. I am at the point now where I am pulling my hair out. My credit score is still good. . . I can make my minimum payments, but that is it! My interest rates have risen, and it is to the point where I can barely make my minimum payments. I cannot even pay more than the minimum now, so my balances are staying the same. I have read negative things about debt consolidation, so I am scared of getting in more over my head. I don't know what to do.

chexsystems

I have one online pdl (webpayday) who is threatening to turn me over to 3rd party collections and seek involuntary methods of recouping the money. Also, they are threatening to turn me into chexsystems. What exactly is chexsystems and can they actually do that since there was no check that actually secured the loan? There was no nsf, either. The bank sent info that per my request, the draft was blocked.

Credit card issues now due to PDL issue, snowball!

18 years 1 month ago
Gang, due to the PDL mess I'm in now my credit cards are falling behind. Only a month so far...Here's my question. I'm going today to CCCS for some advise and the "plan" that my husband and I have come up with is to let the credit cards go one more month and finish paying off the PDL's and then start a dmp with the credit cards. I've never gotten more than a month behind before on my payments, so I'm wondering do you think besides the phone calls I'll get that for one more month I'll be ok with not paying the credit cards? Does this make sense?

Personal Finance is not boring

It is not necessary that personal finance will be boring. It makes sense when you are deciding upon your financial habits trying to make it stronger and healthier. After all it is our ability to tackle money that reflects our creditworthiness. According to Nicole Ouellette personal finance is not uninteresting; it is learning about savings, ways to make more money, infact “it’s where life and money intersect because even personal finance can have a little personality”. Initiate a new take on personal finance.

old credit card debt and immigration

18 years 1 month ago
I was a student and left US 7 years ago without paying off my credit card bills because I was so broke at that time. Now I am thinking to go US again for vacation. Will it be any consequences for entering US again? such as being stopped in immigration checkpoint or being detained?

My Rights for creditors not reporting correct info

18 years 1 month ago
I have a few debts that I have paid or settled. The debt collector reported the debts paid to 2/3 credit bureaus but not the 3rd (usually equifax). IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR I know I could contact equifax and report these false reports but I am wondering if I have any rights to file suit. The law that comes to mind is: US Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, No. 00-15946, Nelson vs. Chase Manhattan Since the debt collector failed to properly report the debt as paid / settled, this has cause damage to my equifax credit report.

discharge

I just received my discharge letter from the court. Included in chpt 7 bk: secured debt home 1st mortgage $415K, 2nd mortgage $95K, 3rd mortgage $30K, car loan $15K, unsecured debt cc and personal loans $40K. My wife and I total income $95K year. On our mortage, we owed more than the value of our home. My attorney told me that I have no more debt. I still don't understand because I'm still paying my home. I called my lenders, why? and they told me that if I stop sending my payments, they can take my house. The same as my car.

Tax and rebate scams

About the scam: Consumers get a call or an e-mail claiming to be from a government agency, such as the IRS , the Social Security Administration or any other kind of government agency. The consumers are asked to provide their personal information like their social security number, bank account number, or other sensitive details to process a rebate check.

cashcall works with a debt cc???

18 years 1 month ago
Someone on here mentioned that cashcall actually works with a debt consolidation company. If that's the case, may I ask the company's name? I've heard they won't work with ANY consolidators at all.
