My name is Jared, on 3/21/08 after making my monthly call to Asset Acceptance to ask for the status of the my request for them to validate a $7800 debt they claim I owe, I was told that they couldn’t talk to me because of a pending court case. I had no idea what the rep was talking about and so I asked her to provide more information and she claims I was served on 1/2/08. I thought that was strange because I wasn’t in town on 1/2/08. I was on vacations and I even have flight/ hotel records as proof. However, I checked the local court website to verify.

my husband signed up for a private student loan in 2000. he withdrew from the school two days after enrolling b/c the school completly lied about what they were offering. we have received no communication from the student loan company or the school until recently. can they still collect on the debt? btw the orginanl creditor is out of business as well as the school

I took out a pay day loan for $1000 over the internet. I bet the money on Duke against WV thinking I would win, but I lost. So now I can't pay this and I am going to have to close my bank account. Can they do anything to me?

Live in Illinois..and got a letter from Blatt, Hasenmiller Leibsker stating they are representing Midland Credit. They are trying to collect $3200. The orig. card had a credit line of $800, it has been sold twice and is now with Midland in the amount of $3200. I gave up with Household in 2004 when my after trying to re-age the account by paying $60 per month, they were still charging me over the limit fees and late fees each month. Household first sent this to Blitt, another attorney's office in Sept. 2007. I sent Blitt a debt validation letter and never received a response.

hi, thank you for this forum here. about 6 months ago i was put into a situation where in order for me to survive i had to "burn" my credit cards. i knew going into this i was not going to be able to pay off the debt, but it was the only recourse i had for my survival. there was no other way, lord knows how i tried. my question is what can they do to me? i am homesteaded and on social security disability, my assets are far below $30,000.

Hi all.... So my story is like everyone else's. We got in a financial bind and borrowed money from a few pdl companies. Unfortunately we also got screwed hard by loanshop. Long story short is we borrowed $300 from the loanshop, they proceeded to deduct $180 a month from our bank account, when I put a stop ach on the deductions (as we had paid them 3 times over at this point), they switched the name and the account number they we're withdrawing funds for so my bank continued to let the ach go through unchallenged.

Here is the story. My husband owes money on a school loan that is nearly 9 years old now...Besides the point, but it gives you a frame of reference for how long we have been contacted about this matter... So anyways, this MRS associates called MY parents house and MY father's business about my husband's account. My parents gave me the number and I called to tell them not to call anymore and to get the address to write it so they can't contact via phone anywhere any longer.

My Date of First Delinquency as per my credit report shows 2/2004 on a debt for a credit card. I received a summons today which is 3/25/08. The state I live in (TX) has a 4 year statue of limitations. Am I correct in the fact that it is now past the statue and I cannot be sued?

Hello I have about 14000 unsecured debt, have a judgement against me filed maybe another one coming. I need to know should i just file bankruptcy or do the freedom debt relief program....I just really need to stop the judgments and the stress i'm going thru. Don't know if to go thru attorney. I told myself I'm done with credit ...thats why i was thinking about bankruptcy. help help please

I received a letter from a collection recovery agency stating that my account may go to arbitration unless I contact them. The letter stated that the original collection agency The Bureaus has made every attempt to contact me which is news to me because I never even heard of this company. They have never sent me any correspondence nor have I received any phone calls from them. Should I send a letter to this affect to the company now contacting me? Not sure how to proceed. Thanks!
