can I settle a debt after receiving a writ of garnishment on my bank account? they frozed my account and only have $800 and my debt is higher. I settle with them for $8,900, paid them $5,000 and still they garnished my bank account.

I got a call today from Creditors Exchange who were looking for my dad. The phone number came up as 500-000-0000. I thought CA's weren't supposed to hide their #'s? Anyway, I did some research and found out who they were. Meanwhile, this company had called all of parents neighbors, my father-in-law, and random relatives, leaving the message:   They then left a phone number and case number for me to give to my "associate". My dad, God love him, called them back and they are threatening to put a lien on their home.

How is this company to work under or with or what ever. OVLG has 212 testimonials and 86 success stories. Can I believe them ?

how long does it take for them to get my certified letter return receipt.i talked to them today i sent the letter yesterday,today they called me twice i spoke to them the 2nd time i tape recored our conversation.the women i spoke to said they wanna try to settle this out of court,i said i need it validated before i can pay.

I recently defaulted on a payday loan with CTC. They are now calling me at work and leaving messages for my manager. I explained on why I was not able to pay and explained that I would be able to pay in full on my next payday. They said I signed a wage garnishment form when I signed up for loan and now are saying they are going forward with it. Do I have any options here? I live in Ohio and the loan is in the amount of 500.00 and I pay in full each time and then do a reloan. I have never dealt with a company who really treats you like a 3rd class citizen.

Ok finally finished filing online complaints with the BBB. I have letters ready to mail out, but some of the addresses were different from BBB than I had. What do I do now?

Help Please. I had an account with Cap 1. In August received letter from Forster and Garbus with amount I owed ($1115) and I began making the payments. Have now paid them $1120 and they sent me letter stating that I now owe another $520. I called and asked for explanation they say it is for costs of filing with court. She claims that i was served with a summon on Oct. 15th (I never got anything). I asked her so when is the court date because I want to show up.

My fax machine in my office just had an automated message from afni Debt Collection agency? has anyone heard of them. It left a number 877-497-9050. I called and asked why they were leaving these messages and the guy stated he was sorry and it was probably a mistake. I said what kind of debts do they buy or represent and he went to say pay.. and said phone companies mostly.
