I need help getting out from under payday loans

18 years 2 months ago
I currently have 4 PDLs: Cash Transfer Centers: $693.00 MTE Financial: $300.00 but they have already taken out $360.00. Fox Enterprises: 200.00 SSM Payday Loan: 200.00 My main problem is that Cash Transfer centres wants the whole 693.00 by next week or they will call my work about taking it out of my pay. I can pay them half and then half in another week but they don't want to here that and I can't have them calling me at work. As for the others, I want to work out a payment plan.

Torn Apart

I am a single mother and I have over 30K in unsecured debt. I can not save and/or invest because I am giving it all to the wealthy a.k.a. credit card companies. If I ever figure a way out of this, I will be much careful in using credit. It is good to have a community that I can share my financial problems with others in the same position.

PDL Nightmare but Fighting them all

18 years 2 months ago
Hello All, I just wanted to update, but before I do I really want to express how awesome you all are!!! The service that you do is invaluable! People come to you all broken and you help put us back together. It is amazing!! I have officially closed my bank account and opened a new one. I have taken a wage revocation to my Payroll and HR. I have sent all my letters out via certified mail except two which will contact me since they are hiding and I am ready to fight. The phone calls haven't started yet, but I will not talk on the phone and I can get through this.

Just a guy who got out of debt

18 years 2 months ago
Went into debt about a year ago due to falling ill. Out of work for about 7 months so my bills fell behind. I ran up about $35,000 in credit card debt, mostly on my wachovia card and bank of America. I have read on this board a lot of people are wondering how others are handling their debts so I wanted to tell you guys what I ended up doing. I got out of debt by using New Horizon Consumer Services. They put me in a debt settlement program that they settled my balances from $35000 to about $23000 and gave me a realistic monthly payment that I could actually afford.

Debt Juriprudence.com

What is the story with Debt jurisprudence.com, they claim that they can eliminate student loans......but they don't even hint at explaining how on their site. I have a lot of student loan debt why can't they just post the general concept on their site without having to hear a sales pitch. It sounds like the J'O Neil student loan "pauperism" scam.

HELP! I recently had my debit card stolen and the thief ran up a lot of charges. Now I am about to be in default with all my payday loans, store front and online. I cannot afford to pay them at this time. I will pay them back but I don't want to lose my check writing privileges or go to jail. Can you advise?

Law Office of Vincent Cignarale

18 years 2 months ago
I recently was contacted by "The Law Office of Vincent Cignarale". They stated initially on my voicemail that they were from this attorney's office handling a matter they could not disclose, but if I did not contact them within 2 days they would make a decision for me and precede accordingly. When I contacted them, I found that they were actually a collection agency trying to collect on a credit card debt from almost 5 years ago. These people stated that they would make a settlement for 1398.00.

Hiring An Attorney To Represent You - Debts

18 years 2 months ago
Obviously, if a persons debts has went to collections there wasn't enough resources available to pay them. How do these consumer lawyers usually conduct business when it comes to taking on cases pertaining to debt collections (unfair collection practices, bogus debts, etc.)? Do they want their fees up front, do they usually accept payments? What's the standard? In reality, I am in debt, I wouldn't be if I could afford to pay my bills, so how could I possibly afford an attorney to represent me? Just looking for some advice and info on how people in this situation proceed. Thanks.

How can PDL companies get your bank information?

18 years 2 months ago
I've seen several posts where people say their bank accounts are being debited for PDLs when they didn't apply to that company. I was wondering... say you get an e-mail with a subject line something like these companies use, "please confirm your account now" or whatever and you open that e-mail; is it possible that at that point they're connected with any companies you have or had PDLs' with and they can get your bank information and maybe even make a bogus contract that looks like you authorized the charges?
