They put 200.00 in my account on 12/12/07 and they have taken 60.00 out of my account 5 times that is 300.00 i didn't ask for this loan and don't know who they are

Hi, two questions for you great people. First of all, am I correct that if I am to be served with papers, the law firm which is doing so must have offices in my state (I am in MD)? My HR dept received a phone call yesterday regarding me. It was from a "Mr. Azena" who said I should call "Mr. Thrower" at the Litigation Dept at WWR Law Firm immediately, they were going to serve me w/papers and wanted to make arrangements to do so out of my office. The phone number they left is 714-380-5874, I looked this number up via the 'net and didn't come up with anything.

Can someone explain section 807(14) to me. It says: prohibits the "use of any business, company, or organization name other than the [collector's] true name." I am not sure if I may have some violations. I have 4 different collection acency company's letterheads trying to collect for lvnv funding llc and 2 different lawfirms 13 letters total. the different names are Risk management Alternatives, Inc.

These are some of the credit repair scams that we must be wary of. Scam 1. "We will give you a new credit identity." This cannot be done legally. The phony credit repair companies will use every trick of the book to convince you that for a fee, they can create a new credit identity for you. What these people do is they will direct you to contact the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and ask you get hold of an Employer Identification Number (EIN) for the purpose of building a new credit history.

Owe 10000 in credit card bills, haven't made any payments in 4 or 5 months, finally realized I need to deal with this and face it. I don't know where to begin. I'm overwhelmed.

First off, thanks for this site and the invaluable information that can be found here... My wife and I are roughly $65000 in debt. 50K of that are auto loans and 15K is credit card, property & IRS tax, and student loan debt. To compound this situation, my wife was laid off six months ago and her unemployment benifits have just run out. She has NOT found work. As a result, we got behind on things (although we are now current on credit cards) and our credit scores have dropped into the low to mid 500's.

Anyone know how to get AMEX to close an account I've been trying off and on for 5 years now. I've called and mailed a letter, what's next?

I receive ssdi $12,000.00 yearly. I normally don't have to file a tax return but read on the irs site and from social security that if people that receive payments such as mine that don't normally have to file a tax return should file one this year to receive part of that stimulus package. I talked to a lady at the IRS and she said to use the 1040A and to put that income on line 14. My question is this: How do I complete this...(I know dumb question) but I really don't know if this is going to work, if it does I probably have to file a paper return right?
