i have about 6 payday loans which i regret getting into.instead of closing my checking account is there someone i can call to somehow consolidate these funds?

I have to say in the (almost) 6 months I've been here I really like this forum. There are a lot of great people that post here and I want to say that so far I have enjoyed the experience. Not only as a learning experience but also as a personal growing experience and I look forward to many more months of being posting with everyone. Thanks

Hi, I live in WA state with a fairly good job but I got hit recently with a financial crisis and STUPIDLY got myself in the PDL trap. Yes, I know. I regret ever signing up for this garbage but we know how desperation drives people to dumb actions. Anyway, it was only 3(!) organizations, one local storefront and two internet(CashNetUSA) and AIP. I've dealt with the local storefront people with an EPP and they are being cool about paying the thing down, and CashNetUSA is being more or less reasonable. AIP on the other hand never seems to return my calls!

I have super bad credit, mostly old credit cards from 12/2001 that I just stopped making payments on, and I want to start paying off my debts. My question is, how do I go about calling the people I owe and trying to get them to jack down the price. They are charging me like 5x more on each card than I owe, because of late fees and all those other fees. I have a $600 card that says I owe them $3000 now. Alot of my accounts say "Charge Off" on my credit report too, so what does that mean?

Scenario: I'm a 21 year old college student with a steady 40k/yr income (690 fico.) Heres my problem: I got stuck on this 22% interest rate card with my bank about 5 years ago, my credit score is great i've never missed a payment but i've seem to rack up a 5k balance over the years. I pay double/triple the minimum due and i'm barely moving anywhere.

I wrote my story 2 days ago in order to get some good advices.and it is removed.It was pretty long one.

I've was served by a collection agency back in November for a debt made in 2002. They were asking for the "Principal Amount Of: $xxxxx" They also stated that this did not include fees or interest. I guess they thought they were going to look like the good guys by not charging me more than the original amount borrowed. Unfortunately I stumbled a bit in my answer, and they received a judgment on the pleadings a week ago. So there was no court date. The day after the judgment, I stumbled upon my entire purchase history online with the merchant they are trying to collect on.

I need about $25,000 to consolidate my debt. I looked into refi's but I have a pretty good rate as it is. Closing cost for the refi's were anywhere from $5500 to $8000! It just doesnt seem worth it to spend $8k to get $25k that I have to pay back anyway. How do H.E. loans work? Is there crazy closing costs? Will I spend just as much as I would with a refi? Are rates similar to refi rates? I am very confused right now. Any responses would be awesome! Thanks Pat

And it's Super Tuesday! Or as we say in my house, the Superbowl for political junkies like me and my daughter. And why am I mentioning this in the PDL forum? We've all gotten a laugh out of Frogpatch in the stocks in downtown London (see that thread for info), but as I've said before and I will say it again, we have a real chance to get rid of PDL's or make serious change based on what candidate we choose for President. Frog's thread put a smile on my face, but it made me think. There are many Americans out there who are still getting those calls and think it's the real deal!

Could someone please tell me if there are any Federal connections to these illegal/prohibited PDLer's? If so, does making complaints to them help the cause? As I read page after page of these horror stories, I get more and more angry.
