Phillip Corbin & Associates, ever heard of them?

18 years 3 months ago
I posted this in another forum and didn't get a response. So I'll post here as well. Has anyone heard of Phillip L Corbin & Associates? I received a letter from a creditor that stated they were requesting a payment history of mine. The creditor doesn't release that information without my approval. So they (creditor) notified me. I can't find anything on them.Anyone have information on who they are?

Jackson Law Firm -- The Bad Debt Collection Process

The issue is incentive. Wrestling with debtors can often be a tiresome and tedious task for you. The headache and financial burden of collecting on defaulted bills can be avoided with an effective debt collection system. We provide the muscle behind your push for payment. The process that we employ not only allows us to prosecute almost any type of debt, but also places a calculated amount of pressure on the debtor, which provides the debtor with a fair incentive to pay you. Getting your due requires placing your debtor's back against the wall.

Statute Of Limitations For Debts

The statute of limitations (SOL) for a delinquent debt is the time limit for the creditor to file a lawsuit. This period starts when the debtor becomes delinquent.

The Credit Bureaus Defense Strategy of Attrition and Delay

18 years 3 months ago
The “Big Three” (CRA’s) defense strategy was criticized by Judge Posner of the 7th Circuit in the bedbug case as "investing in developing a reputation intended to deter plaintiffs", which was an important reason why in that case the 7th Circuit upheld $372,000 in punitive damages with only $10,000 in punitive damages (a 37-to-1 ratio). Consumers need to urge the courts to follow Judge Posner in deliberately recognizing that that is a game played by the CRAs [and most of their furnishers], and that an appropriate outcome of that game will be high punitive damages.
