Several years ago I had to go to the emergency room. I had no insurance and I never received a bill from the hospital. One year to the date of my hospital visit I get a letter from a collection agency. I had no money so I ignored it, they never hassled me. A year later I got a letter that was suppose to look like it came from an attorneys office offering to accept 50% of the bill and call it paid in full. At this time I had a little money.
