I owe money to American Express, who has transferred attempts to resolve this issue to Mitchell Kay Law Offices. Should I avoid dealing with him? How should I handle this? I would like to resolve the issue but he sounds shady.

I am wondering if you receive this loan to pay off debt if it goes on your credit report in a negative way at all. Also how does it appear on your credit report. If you pay off credit cards are you required to close the accounts or does the credit card company insist.

Hello! It will feel good to write this out in a format such as this. I started taking out high interest loans about 2 years ago because of an addiction I was dealing with (those details are for another forum...) I have been in recovery now for over 3 months. I am not spending money on my former addiction and I am not taking out any new loans. I am however paying off all of the loans I took out.

I have just sent out a cease and desist letter to Cash Today Limited. They have been calling me here at work and also at home.If this does not stop them from harassing me all the time, what would my next step be to get them to stop? My loan with them is paid off. They actually took out more than they were supposed to. Once I stopped all transactions from my account and they were not able to get anymore money from me, that is when the phone started riniging off the hook again.Just want to know what to do if I have to take this to the next step. For the life of me I can't understand why credit card companies refuse to work with you when you are having financial problems. As a result of serious medical problems my monthly income was reduced by more than one-half. Bank of America took over my MBNA account and doubled the interest rate even though I was never late on my payments. When my wife called and questioned them, they were rude and refused to lower the rate. I then called them and asked about lowering the rate and was told "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!

I noticed on my Credit Report that one of my delinquent accounts has been charged off; however PORTFOLIO RECOVERY purchased this account. Even though I haven't made a payment since 10/2006, my Credit Report shows a payment of $300.00 was made in 12/2007, which is the same time that PORTFOLIO RECOVERY purchased my account. Is this the amount they paid for my account? If not why did they make a payment? Is this legal?

I have an open checking account with Mazuma credit union but I recently was added to chexsystems due to NSF-I have not written a check with them yet(Opened account in 10�7), If I write a check "good one" of course, Will chexsystems find out and tell Mazuma or what?
