I reported Gfs to the BBB and in less them 24 hours i got a response from GFS giving me a settlement to pay 200.00 but i've already paid them 1000 on a 200.00 loan. The email that they sent said they would stop calling me at work and at home. They wouldnt contact me any more. Should I pay them or just consider my account closed?

I got the number for t&c off this website I am going to call them today. Does anyone know how it works? Is it a loan? Is it a mgt co.? Do they work with pdls?

What can I do about consolidating payday loans? I have 8 payday loans. Some I've been paying on since September. I've gotten to the point where I don't have a check any more.

I have a card that was opened in Florida and has been charged off since 1999. I just received a call today from a collection agency trying to collect on the debt. Do I legally need to pay this debt?

I saw in my local news last night where here in OHIO they are trying to pass a law stating that PDL's can't charge more than..... get this....36% interest!!! There was a hearing yesterday at our statehouse about it. WHOA WHOOO!!! I hope they get some where with it!

I was told that my loan had been approved, then there was a backlog, lots of people to deal with. Finally, the other day, told that lenders had run out of funds. I am left with no money at all. I left the UK on 2nd Dec and am now in Grenada, West Indies. My debts are around £55,000 to £60,000. I need to pay my rent and bills. Direct debits need to come out of bank account on a monthly basis. I had just been in the UK for two months, visiting. I live abroad now, first year and it has been tough for work. Starting work this Sat.

So I'm stuck in between a rock and a hard place. I was contacted by a debt collector claiming that I owe a company some money. I never opened an account with these people so I'm obviously the victim of identity fraud. The company/collection agency has my address (and old address!), credit card, bank account info but not my SSN. I keep telling them that I never dealt with them but I doubt that they believe me. I filed a police report and shut down my credit card but I don't have any hard evidence to prove that this wasn't me that racked up a $500 tab.

I'm not sure where to post this so here goes. I recently had the natural gas turned on in a building that I own, it had been off for 7-8 years. When I called to have it turned on I was told I needed to make a $170. deposit, no problem, made the deposit. A couple weeks later I get a bill for $170. I called and questioned the bill thinking that it was odd that they ask for $170 upfront and my first bill was $170 without reading the meter. The customer service rep told me the first $170 was applied to an old, 7-8 years old, past due balance.
