I have been harrassed on my cell phone daily for two weeks, I can't pay the 1,200.00 in full, but I can pay 50 a month. She is so soft spoken on th ephone and all she wants is my checking account and I refuse to do that. My question is can they take me to jail? if I am trying to pay this debt off and how do I get them to stop calling my cell phone????? its annoying!! I have told her its not mine and she still calls it! the number thing is weird she calls on a 770 number but has me call back on a 800 number?? 1-800-456-8448. they are out of GA. Please help me!!!!

I am such an idiot.. After finding this wonderful site and doing what was advised, I sent letters, closed my account, etc.. I have a few PIF's and I thought everything was going to be wonderful.. .....Well, I fell into the frickin internet PDL trap again....3 to be exact... Yeah, I know, you can smack me.. I am in a big mess. I have two loans that I am not going to pay on Magnum and Big(which they say is out of the UK) not sure about that. I am closing my account as soon as one more check clears. Will Big call me all of the time for the money once they know they won't be getting it out of my account? Thank you for your help. I was reading in another thread that someone on here has had experience with this company called Take Charge America. Can anyone give me more information about it? Do they high interest rates, do they freeze your accounts, that sort of thing. I am currently using a company called Beneficial and is really unhappy with them. I have been with them for about a year now and haven't even made a dent into the repayment. The interest rate is 29.95 and pay $216 a month. I was told that after six months the interest rate goes down.

Can a collection agency process a payment through your bank after you called and told them not to because the funds would not be available? Then they tell you either come up with the money or have insufficient funds with your bank and I will have to deal with it. What kind of collection agency process a payment regardless of the situation when you called to work out a payment on a different date, and they basically tell you oh well tough luck on your part. I know I have rights and they can not just do this without my permission. What can I do to make sure my rights are not violated?
