I am livid. G. I e-mailed them explaining that he would pay the following month. Even with that they charged over $100 in misc fees! Well I went on their website & he owed a total of $144 by 11/16/07. I was able to pay online with a future due date. I paid $75 to be deducted on 11/9 & $75 on 11/16. Well I got the nastiest collection person, threatening me & demanding I pay today. I explained no ! Check your website & see that I made payment arrangements.

I sent a DV letter to 2 companies both certified, one of which I am actually being sued for, but the judge allowed a period of discovery and I go back to court on November 30th. I allowed enough time for the 30 days so that the CA has time to get all the evidence I asked for. I have 2 questions: 1. What happens after 30 days if they do not respond, OR if they do not give the proper validation I asked for?

Are there any reputable CC settlement companies? I lost my job earlier this year due to a plant closure and have started a new one for substantially less money. Right now we are not able to make the minimum payment on these cards. I have already discussed the bankruptcy options with an attorney and would rather not pursue that avenue if I do not have to. Right now I am carrying about $25000 in unsecured debt and my credit rating is excellent.
