Has anyone had any settlement dealings with BCR (Bureau of Collection Recovery) or Encore? Both are collection agencies. I am interested in hearing what they might agree to as far as percentages, if anyone has dealt with them. My dmp counselor suggested 80% of the debt. I was hoping for more! Am I being greedy?

Has anyone settled a debt with Friedmans Jewelers? They won't lower their interest rate with my dmp. It is currently at 23.96% If I can get some low interest money from a relative I would offer to pay them off at a reduced amount. Any suggestions? My DMP counselor said it is okay for me to pay off a debt completely but not so good to negotiate a new repayment plan. I don't know why. Also, when income tax time comes I was thinking I would pay off a company that would offer the best deal. Any suggestions or comments?

I am trying to improve my credit score (and doing anything possible to gain points). I have paid off all my current debt. I have some derogatory accounts that belonged to my ex-husband that will not come off when I dispute and the creditors won't repond to my attempts to pay off so I am unsure what to do with those.

Has anyone ever heard of AMCash Collection? They took 85.00 from my account. I don't know who they are. I would appreciate the feedback. I am slowly getting out of payday loan hell and this just took me by surprise.

I just spoke to some a$$ from CTC and he threatened to contact my employer to assign my wages. I said that i was aware of my rights and that they could not do this but I was willing to work to take care of the balance. He said the $700 loan I had is now over $900. I talked to someone in my payroll office and they said it IS legal for them to assign my wages based on the contract that I signed--digital signature or not. I don't understand--from everything I have read on here it seemed like they had to get a court order to do such a thing? What should I do?

Just received some very useful info from a customer service rep w/ BoA, he stated that a hold can be put on to an account by phone, he stated that all that needs to be done is the account holder call into the main customer service line and press the option for lost/stolen dept, then ask for a lost/stolen hold or protection hold to be put on the account, he also stated that the only way for any activity to occur on this type of hold is that the acct holder has to go into the branch location to deposit funds or to take the block off.

I just got a "verification letter" from the law firm and the amount went up 200% since the original letter they sent out. It has taken them 4 months to send me what I asked for now they are charging me fees to get verification. Anyway, I sent them a settlement letter (certified mail) today and told them I would settle for $450. Not the $1,300 they now say I owe. They just called me on the phone and I explained that, I sent out a settlement letter and was awaiting a reply via USPS. They asked how much I would settle for and I said 450.

I have a question regarding Payday Loan laws. I live in California and it says that rollovers are not permitted. Does this apply only if the lender is in California? Or does it apply to any payday loan. I have a loan with One Click Cash and they are not in California and they are harassing me regarding a payday loan that I have with them, they are not in California. Would the no rollovers apply to them or not. He is threatning to start legal proceedings against me if I don't pay by the end of today.
